Running, through the thick nightitme fog, was one of many dogs. His eyes burnt from the water falling down in thick sheets. His legs begged for him to run, yet his brain was slowing him down. "Keep going" he whispered to himself up. It was like a perfet picture. This robber, William, was running for his life from thirteen cursed armors sent by the king.
Then it happened.
A hand reached out from a thin, thin alley. It was a kind paw, one William had never thought he'd see given out to him. The girl hiding in the shadows left the hand there, knowing perfectly she was helping a robber. Will slithered through the alley and into what he'd never find himself in normally. A dress-making shop.

With a swift movement, the arch that stood in Will's hand was brushed from his hand to the girl's. William protested "Hey that's mine!" but the girl simply put her long paws on a chair, and snapped it on her knee. Will sighed before saying "So you're helping a robber? Don't you know if you do that you get killed? y the way I'm Will...". The girl chuckled, throwing the arch into the flickering fire that stood on the wall left her. Her eyes glimmered as she said "I'm smart enough to know that. I like helping robbers change.". William was confused, but said nothing, instead sitting down on a chair and rubbing his forehead with one paw. He looked silently around the workshop as the girl dissapeared into another room. A small sunshine yellow dress lay in a corner of the room, but the rest of the room was occupied by normal-sized, colorful dresses and weird and wonderful fabric. "I'm Alexandra" she said from the other room, before a silent buzzing noise of a machine began.

William had had enough of this puzzling situation, and standing up he made his way into the other room. What appeared before his eyes made them widen like eggs being cracked. A six year old girl, standing in a bright blue dress and dancing around with a smile on her face. The only thing that made this girl different is the fact she had very little fur and ruined pawpads. Alexandra sat on a chair, watching the little girl as she made yet another dress, this time grass green. William was speechless for words, and looked at Alex for an explenation. She looked up to him and sighed "Meet Clyela, William. My only child... And with cancer too"

A story between a child and her Mother


Brownie the mother

Jen the daughter.


"Mamma!" The little girl called for her mother. Her mother walked in. She saw her daughter with tears in her eyes. The mother went to her daughter."what's the matter dear?" She asked sweetly. Jen lifted up an old teddy bear that her mother made for her so many years ago. "It's broken!" She said. She said gesturing to missing eyes on the bear. Her mother smiled softly. "I'll fix it." She said. She kissed the top of Jen's head. Brownie went into her workshop and fixed the eyes with dazzling pink buttons. She couldn't help but add a pink bow around the neck with it. She gave it to her daughter. Brownie was an only parent. She had a mate but he died from illness. The only one in her family left was Jen. That night Brownie tucked Jen in. "Give me a smile, Jen. I want to remember that beautiful smile of yours forever." She said. Jen smiled. Her mother smiled back. "Good night, Jen." She said. She left the room. She walked to a picture of her dead mate. "If only you were here to see this day.." She said.

Years had passed and Jen was 10 years old now. Her teddy bear now stayed inside to hide it away.
Brownie had been feeling sick though. And it was time for a doctor. When the doctor came Jen gt worried. She was playing with head friends and dropped the ball. she looked in through the window. She saw her mother's eyes with tears and the doctor looking very sad. The doctor left. Jen ran inside. "Mother? what's wrong?" She asked. Brownie holds her daughter's hand. "There comes a time when we go a different place.. a happy one. Filled with joy and laughter.. Were you father is now." She said. Jen didn't know now what was going on still. "and we fear that.... I may be joining him.." Brownie explained further. Jen burst into tears. She hugged her mother tightly. "NO! You can't die! You can't!" Jen said in tears. Brownie had tears in her eyes. That night Brownie went in to tuck her into bed. "Smile for me, Jen.. I want to remember that for the rest of my time living." She said. Jen forced a smile in tears. They hugged tightly.

A week later Jen's mother wasn't there to tuck her in.. She feel asleep in tears. Jen was sent to the orphanage, Where she was bullied by other's because she cried every night. But still forcing herself a smile. Even at age 14 she slept with that old teddy bear.. Visiting the tomb of her mother every weekend.

The crimson red thread wove up her arm like a snake as she sat and waited to hear hear what the StringConductor had to say. The man sat watching her a ball of red string in his hand as he opened his mouth to speak, even with this change, his face still held a smirk that intimidated even the bravest. His smooth voice sliced through the air, "Well, you've lived haven't you? You've played chess on the moon, and shot a balloon. What else could you hope for? Do you wish to end now?" She nodded her head slowly, she had been contemplating this for awhile. She has lived over on hundred years, and she couldn't think of one more thing to do. And one more day under the StringConductor's sickening smile would surely drive her mad. They made no choices without his consent. Everywhere you went in this city, his power was inevitable. His spies, his guards, his monsters, even him sometimes. A meeting with him was never good. She hated this place and she hated the red string curling around her arm, her lifeline. Just one cut on that lifeline and she would be gone. So simple, yet such a great pain. To have your lifeline cut was usually reserved for murderers are long time prisoners. Now here she was asking for it. Had she done anything? No, but she couldn't live like this anymore. Going to the conductor for every move she made. She felt like a game piece. Sure there were adventures, there were thrills but what fun is that when somebody knows your every move? Nobody dared cross the StringConductor especially not in the game of chess. Considering what happened to that boy who beat him in chess a year ago:

The StringConductor gave a swift nod. "Very well then. Cut it." He snickered and handed her scissors. "Cut it yourself."
She took the scissors, a sickening feeling forming in her stomach. Snapping the thread in one fast movement and crumpling to the floor in pain. The StringConductor simply shrugged and took the scissors back, looking at the dying girl. "Doll,it only gets worse from here." She saw him walk away before completely blacking out.

Time passed and to her great surprise she woke up. She didn't understand, she was supposed to die. She looked down at her lifeline and noticed that a black goo was connecting the red thread where she had cut it. She looked around but everything was just black, though a soft wind could be felt. And pieces of some sort of black material. Her breathing was ragged and her heart wasn't beating. If she had a heart. She didn't even know anymore. A piece of red thread stuck to her and she could of sworn she heard the StringConductor's laugh. Then his words "Doll, it only gets worse from here."
