Technically, since all reindeer have horns...there is no right or wrong gender. Which is why I love CS.

Actually I read somewhere that male reindeer loose their antlers in the winter which would make all of Santas reindeer girls.

Actually, if I remember correctly, male reindeer lose their antlers late January, female lose them in April. Still could be either.

Anyway, I've always seen them as male. Because of the movie Rudoph the Red-nosed Reindeer, where the does didn't have antlers. It's not so much that I view that as a fact of nature, but that I cannot see any deer with antlers without thinking "male!"
