"no I'm fine" Joe said rubbing the blood from her lip. It was already starting to heal so she didn't care. She just rubbed it a little and licked her lips at times casually to get the blood off.

Bella winced, but said nothing. “You gave me a paper-cut,” she hissed, staring at her bloody finger. She shoved him and sucked her finger. “You weirdo.”

"yeah, see all better" Joe said showing him the now healed lip. Her eyes widened and she face Palmed herself as just pretty much told him what she was. Stupid Joe.

Alex rolled his eyes. "just making sure your not one" he said, putting his hands up I'n defeat. Silver will hur werewolves and won't hurt humans.

Bella rolled her eyes. “Frankie’s been missing for a week,” she said nervously.

Ash grinned. “You’re a vamp,” he said, sounding slightly impressed. His silver eyes were intent on her face as he leaned back against the counter. “I know I’m delicious, but please, control yourself.”

"shut up" Joe muttered, glaring at him. "I'm also half human and can. Control myself. I just haven't had anything I'n a couple of days so that half is starving. That's why i kept piercing myself" she winced holding her lip which was now healed.

Alex nodded casually. "where was the last time you saw her?" he asked as if her sister Frankie was a pet but I'n a way I'n his eyes she was. She was a dog.

“Go eat something,” suggested Ash. “I don’t mean go make Allie your next meal, much as we’d love to see that happen.” A smile twitched at the corner of his lips.

“She is not a dog,” said Bella angrily. “She’s my little sister. And the last time I saw her she was running around the house, knocking things over.” She winced, remembering Frankie screaming down the fire escape.

Joe rolled her eyes and was off in a zip, knowing her way out. she went up the elevator and outside. debree swirled around in circles like a tornado on the ground. she sighed and walked into the daytime. It was overcast so she was gonna be alright. Normally she'd wear sunblock but she didn't exactl need to today. A man stumbled down the road, obviously drunk. just abite? i wont kill him... she thought watching him go down without a care in the world it seemed. she flashed back to the night when they killed that werewolf and flintched walking away. she was back to animals since now she knew the shadow hunters and knew they would most likely kill her for hurting an innocent bystander and turning him. quickly she ran through the streets, barely seen by the human eye. Wind picked up as she swiftly ran towards one of the forests in upstate new york. It was a hassle but she shrugged it off and finally made it after a good ten minutes. The woods were bare. Sounds echoed off the lonely trees which stood tall to the sky. by this point she was pretty much starved after tasting the blood on her lips. her eyes were now a crimson red. Her fangs enlarged just thinking about food. A moose tumbled by. It was slow and taking its time making its way through the quiet woods. little did it know that today would be it's last day to enjoy the wonders of life. she would be delivering that death sadly. Though she killed so many living people that one animal was nothing but a mere bug being squished to her. With a sigh she bolted over and her fangs-which look like pins because they were so thin and sharp- bite into its neck. The moose seemed terrified by this action. it stomped and made a nnoise trying to call out to a fellow moose somewhere, but before it could whine too much it was starting to collapse to the ground from the blood that gushed into Joe's small mouth. The 18 year old backed up as the moose went limp. she turned away, feeling nothing, and zipped back off to new york city and to her home. her family was in hiding so they did not have a pac like any other vampire. Her father was a vampire and her mom was a human. That was frowned pon in the vampire community. at times they would go to a warlocks house to party the night away but only ones that her father was close to and knew wouln't get him in trouble. she slowed down as New York City started to become lighter and lighter in the distance. she smiled. home. she would see her dad and mom and then soon head back to the institute. her house was a small white house. Red rose's bloomed on the bushes in the front and in the window boxes her moms sunflowers sat. all the things about home made her smile. her window was on the side of the house and thats normally how she got in most of the time. once at the side she jumped and landed in the window. no one couuld of seen her becasuse the house was surrounded by trees which cast a heavy shadow. she looked around her room. The coffin sat on the ground and in it was all the familiar blankets of her home. bending down, she picked one up in her pale fingers and looked it over. It was bright pink and blue. the softness of it gave her goosebumps and made her rub it up against her face. She placed it down gently and moved to grab some things for herself and grabbing some of her diseased sisters things for Bella, she also got out of her bloody clothes and put on something new. a plaid strapless top and some faded skinny jeans, converse chuck taylor knee high shoes, and her favorite hogwarts letterman jacket. On the back all four houses were listed and it said hogwarts. she looked through her jewlery box for important things. the other night she had completely forgot to put on her tear drop blood vile necklace. she kinda needed that. It helped a lot when she was starving and had no where to go. she also grabbed her grandmas charm bracelet that she had been given so many years ago. one thing she couldnt live without was her cherry perfume. it covered the smell of death pretty well. soon when she was dressed she grabbed her bag which was backed with things for her and Bella. Slowly, she made her way down the stairs. her mom and dad sat on the couch with a phone book in front of them. Joe's dad heard her walking down the wooden stairs in their house and turned. immediately he was up and out of his seat. he flew over to her and hugged her tightly, her mom did the same but ran on the ground since she wasn't a vampire.
"Joe" her mom cried, not letting go of her daughter.
"Hi ma, hi dad" she said happy to see her parents.
"where have you been missy!" her mom scolded, pulling out of their hug. Her dad too looked angry, as they both had the right to be. their daughter goes to the grocery store and dissapears a whole night?
"well I, um, well, you see i was out and their were some shadow hunters..." joe started but was cut off by her dad.
'there was what?!" he exclaimed blinking several times.
"let me finish! they were killing a werewolf and Bella was there. I wondered if she had seen anything so when the shaodw hunters were gone i went to go make sure she was alright. they came back and then i had to pretend i was some helpless little girl. i've been with them. i'm fine and not dead." she said with a smile and looking on the bright side, even if there was no bright side to this. her dad had his hand on his temples and was thinking. he had shaggy caramel colored hair like joe and big red eyes, he was too deathly pale. her mom on the other hand was a tan woman with big blue eyes and blonde curly hair. she had a smile that could light up the world. they were an odd pair but oh well.
"ok, well your not going back at least?" Her dad asked and Joe looked small.
"well, um i kinda have to, bellas there. i wanna watch her, make sure she's alright" she said with a small shrug. he dad sighed and nodded in agreement. Her mom stood next to her husband.
"just be careful hun" her mom said with her famous smile. Joe smiled and nodded.
"got you necklace?" Her father wanted to make sure she had it. At times it could be crucial. She nodded with a huge smile.
"i'll see you guys later then" she said and kissed both her parents goodbye. she didn't know the next time she would see them. the three embraced in a big hug and Joe departed with a smile. she then ran back to the institute as fast as she could get herself to go. she was there in seconds. the elevator stood in front of her. she hit the button and was on her way down. she then went to find Ash again.

"oh, i wonder why?" Alex asked confused. he was trying t piece together somethings as best as he could even if they confused him more.

“I have no idea,” said Bella truthfully. She stared at Alex nervously, wringing her hands. “So, explain the runes. And as much as you know about Shadowhunting as you can. What do you do every day?”

Ash stared blankly at the counter, shuffling around marshmallows on a plate. God, Allie could not cook. He wrinkled his nose, staring into the oven.

"everyday?" Alex asked and shrugged. "well, we get up, eat breakfast, get dressed, brush our teeth, comb our hair, walk around the institute bored, fight with Allie at times, have lunch, sleep, have dinner, go to bed and thats the end of that day" he said with a smirk. "shalll i go on?" he asked.

Joe walked into the kitchen to see Ash poking at a marshmallow. "hows it taste??" she asked, leaning on the door frame with a smirk,

“Arrogance aside,” said Bella flatly, “That’s all you do? No saving the world?”
