Well there you have your reason. They are animals and they don´t know that the other animals can feel pain. They simply don´t have the ability to think about it. To them, it is nothing more than biting a moving object until it stops moving. That is why it is fun for them.

Thank you, proud owner of a fox pelt, crayfish claw, and mudturtle shell, and I'm expecting a fox tail anyday. It baffles me when people support animals hunting for fun and not us. :/

lol...I didn't read the whole thread but here's my opinion.

The gray wolf is not the only species of wolf. No one pays attention to the sub-species of wolves that need our help way more than the timbers.
What about the african wild dog?
African wild dogs have much stronger pack structures and get along better than most wolf packs. In a wolf pack, the alpha will eat first, but in an African Hunting dog pack they will let the pups or the ones too old to feed themselves first.
As far as animals go, there are ones way more noble and deserving of our help than the wolf.
And gray wolves are not endangered.

House cats, even when fully fed kill mice/birds all the time because they like to. That's why cats have put such a strain on bird populations. They think it's fun to chase them around and kill them. It's quite the other way around. Animals don't have the intelligence to think: "oh I've already ate, I shouldn't kill this."

and that sums up my stance. I am a human. Therefore, I am an animal. I live like an animal. I kill anything I want for any reason, and eat anything I want just because I want to. (not saying that I go out killing random puppies...I don't. xD)

I use to hate people owning fur of animals, but at the renniasance fair, I bought a fox's tail and ears. A fox is my favorite animal, and I respect that the animal should not have been killed for it's fur, but I do not support animal hunting for fun. I'm not even sure it's real fur-the ears feel like rabbit fur(and was not made the same way fox ears are xD), but the tail is either real or very well made.


Don't think of me as a bad person, I love animals more then anything, but when I saw a clerk wearing a fox tail, I felt the need to go out and buy one. It haunted me that it may be real fur, but I no longer see anything wrong with having a fox tail, the only thing that disturbs me is when someone owns and flaunts around an entire animal pelt. -shudders- But that's not any of my business what people own, I guess.

I don't think anyone hates wolves, except people who are in danger of them-if wolves who are starving are eating their livestock, or an insane wolf kills someone, which is extremely likely to have happened, I'm fine with them killing them. I love wolves, but if the ones near you are a danger to you, what if the only choice is to kill the one terrorizing you?

I understand that wolves have lives too, and I favor animals over humans-but it's a natural thing to kill another animal if you need to.

I don´t think anybody said that animals don´t kill for fun...
I said they don´t kill without a reason. Having fun is a reason, especially when they don´t realize that they are hurting another being by "having fun". I also never said that they purposely try not to kill too many animals. They don´t, because they don´t even realize that the things they do have an effect on anybody other than themselves. Like I said, they don´t think of it as killing, they think of it as biting an object until it stops moving, like a human punching a punching bag.
The main difference is that we can´t blame the animals for killing because they don´t know what they are doing. A human does.
Apart from that, I don´t have any problem with people hunting, as long as they kill the animal immediately and don´t make it suffer. And hunting deer and stuff for food is definately better than the way most pigs, cows and chickens are treated before they are killed.
