Stunned by her action, Dejoin followed silently. He lifted his head towards the hidden sky, and noticed it was darkening, as the bright orange shinned through ahead. The crisp air turning cooler as a hit of wind openly blasted its way through his pelt. It was then he noticed his stomach letting out a loud gurgle. Dejoin wasn't to curious about the weather, or his hunger. He was well determined to keep his pace with Avis to see the unknown creatures instead of day dreaming.

Avis led Dejoin through the woods, smiling faintly to herself as she heard his stomach growl. She wondered if, like her, he had powers. If so, the huans would be a threat to him also. "Do you have any powers?" she asked him, curious.

"Don't we all?"
Dejoin answered to her question, "Do you have any powers".
What was she getting at?
He wondered, keeping his pace to see the beings.

"I can fly, obviously. And I can control fire, never be burned, and understand any language that can be spoken. What can you do? And keep your voice down; we're almost there." The passed through a small clearing edged with ferns. This was where the Evil Ones had captured her last time.

Dejoin ducked lower in the shades of the trees to the females command of keeping it down, and let out a clear, but lowered voice.
"Freeze.. stuff?"
Letting out a bit of a joke out of him, he continued a little more seriously.
"Well, I easily can kill my prey if I'm using my teeth, which could be common I really don't know,
I use my fur as a defense when I'm startled, as in having it turn practically to ice, don't touch it when it does that, I found out the hard way!"
Dejoin grinned widely, however glanced a weary look at his rough fur. He peered through ahead, nervous on seeing these creatures, and eagerly waiting for Avis to show them to him.

(That's ok! I've been grounded and won't really be on on week days anymore. But I'll try to be on as often as possible on weekends!)
"Be quiet from here on. They're close," Avis whispered. She led Dejoin through a final patch of forest, then crouched low and kept walking. The human's lab loomed in front of them. They were milling around the entrance, where a strange light was shining through. "There they are," she quietly told Dejoin. "Let's go a little closer."
She kept walking until they were about 100 yards away and could see the humans clearly.

"Whoa.. they look weird.."
Out of the dramatic of the moment, Dejoin let out a sharp whisper as he cocked his head repeatedly at the strange creatures.

"Why do we have to be so quiet again?"

"Because they'll catch you. They'll catch you and throw you in a cage and experiment on you for days with no food until they let you go. It's painful and pointless. They are cruel and heartless creatures-never trust them," Avis said ominously.

Dejoin stared blank for the few moments of the answer made by Avis.
"Oh..."
"Right.."
The wolf stared out, still a bit stunned by her rather blunt answer. Dejoin stood in silence as time stop, gazing around about at them as the shade from the tall trees set them in the shadows.
"I vote we head back.."
He said, in a suggesting tone of voice, however already pawing backwards.

"Alright," Avis said, following his lead. She thought that maybe she shouldn't have said it so straight forward, then shrugged. It was the truth, and he had needed to know.
She led him to a medium-sized cave where she usually slept, and led him in. "This is where I live, when the Humans don't have me," she said. It was bright inside, light shining through a few holes in the walls. A bed of grass was in one corner where she slept.
