Jay went to work quickly and silently. He did the best he could to get all the fragments and pellets out. Luckily his improved vision helped a lot.

Jay sighed and fed from the human hungrily. Then he sighed again and laid down in exhaustion. The on and off sleeping had been making his wound and sleep level worse rather than better.
