It says they got stripes at 7 days, yet they became uhh what are baby zebras called? foals i guess, at 5 days.

That's because the whole litter needs to grow before they get rarities.

Actually, I think Nick is just too busy from the Advent calendar (and probably life) to update them right now. If you had noticed, last month when Equi's staff dog grew, and the rest hadn't, the rarity had already said common.
