Welcome to The Rulers of Humanity! An app I have on my iPod, and my likings of dragons, inspired me to create this unique roleplay. Here, you can have your own territory and rule your own kingdom, with human slaves that bring tribute daily. You can also be a loner if you like. All kinds of dragons are accepted here! Even flightless/wingless ones. To be clear on the matter, dragons can speak the human language.

You're walking along in the open, looking for an easy meal. You're a loner, nowhere to call your home. Suddenly, a great white dragon flies down at you, and breathes a white fire that chills you, right down to the bone. Her breath left frost all over your scales. "Why have you trespassed into my territory, worm?" her mighty voice roars, rows of white teeth glistening. "I'm sorry! I didn't know!" you plead. You tell her your name. "I'm Sephina. The best way to go is to find your own territory and lair. Or, you can steal it from another." she says, then sees a glint in your eye. "Don't even think about stealing mine, or I'll have your scales for breakfast!" Sephina threatens, and continues on, "Or, you can stay a loner and steal prey from other dragons. Some even have their own dragon communities and cities, where they take care of each other, their young, and eggs, where no human is. Make your decision." she said, growing impatient. Her claws leaves scratches on your scales as she chases you out of her territory. You think about it. A lair all to yourself, and possibly a mate, and your own kingdom. Humans bowing before you, delivering gold to your lair. You like that. Stealing one sounded hard, but you're still deciding. Being a loner did have its advantages, but there would be no place to raise your young or store gold. A dragon community seemed pretty easy. Joining other dragons in a widespread territory, where you could find a mate easily, help protect hatchlings, eggs, hunt freely. No humans to disturb you! What do you choose, scaly one?

Dragon Terms
Most are made-up.

Elder Dragon - An elder dragon is pretty obvious. They are really old, although there has never been a record of a dragon dying from old age, basically making them immortal. These dragons are treated with the most respect, for they have a vast spread of wisdom from their long time on the planet. Their age is usually 1000 years and older.

Flightless Dragon - These dragons are uncommon, but they exist. They could have wings, but can't fly. They can be wingless, preventing flight. They could be a dragon that lives in the ocean, where they don't need to fly.

Dragon - Just a term that says what they are, no matter the breed.

Worm - This term is often used in taunting, insulting, or intimidation.

Hatchling - Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. A sign of maturation is when wings grow in, flippers, different and continuous behavior, etc. At this point, their mother will abandon them or throw them out of her territory. If hatched and matured in a dragon community place, then the hatchling stays and learns how to survive. It has the choice of leaving whenever. Maturing displays may happen at the 1 year mark, and they grow into their full form at 2 years.

Egg - Eggs are laid a few days after breeding. They must be warmed constantly and hatch at least a week later. Sometimes it may take months. If an egg is too cold for a few days, it will hibernate in order to keep the baby inside alive. Hibernation for the egg will only last up to 6 months. If it does not receive warmth by then, it dies. Unborn dragons are actually ready to hatch early on in their development cycle. However, they choose to remain in the safety of their own egg rather than leave it. Females can produce up to 4 eggs per breeding.

Vampire Dragons - This breed is confusing. They're rare, and only reproduce by biting an egg, injecting their venom and killing the baby inside.

Loners - A loner is an individual dragon that chooses to wander alone. They mostly steal from other dragons' territory and avoid finding a mate or their own lair.

Tribute - Loot. Gold. Money. Something that humans will bring you if you rule a kingdom over the mortals.

Minions - Most minions of dragons are goblins. Orange-skinned humanoids that speak a language that humans don't understand.

Purple Dragons - Not much is known about them. Females are very common in this breed, only few males are known. Their powers are unknown, even their diets. They are believed to be masters of 4 elements, the ones they choose to practice. They are rare.

Kingdom - A kingdom is when one (1) individual dragon claims territory where human civilizations are. The dragon controls their cities and villages, and the humans bring daily tribute (loot, money, etc.) for protection from their ruler. A typical kingdom only has a maximum of two (2) dragons, the ruler who claimed the kingdom and their mate. Later on, when eggs hatch, there will be hatchlings. Close to maturing, both dragons will throw their offspring out of their territory to fend for themselves.

Territory - A territory is a widespread land that one (1) individual dragon claims. They are the owner of that territory. A territory does not have any human civilizations whatsoever. Commonly, there are only two (2) dragons, and then their offspring if they choose to let them live on their territory longer. If it's big enough, the dragon who claimed it could allow other dragons live in their territory.

Dragon Community - A dragon community is a very big, widespread piece of territory that one (1) dragon claims at first. There are no humans at all here, only dragons. Any dragons can join as long as the creator approves. Each dragon works together. Whether it be hunting, protecting eggs, feeding hatchlings, etc. They work together and get along.

More terms will be added as I think of them and/or misunderstandings occur.

Season
Next Season Change: January 19, 2011

Spring [] - This is the breeding season! Although dragons breed whenever they please, this season amplifies that need/want and it sparks a compulsion to find a mate in each dragon. Males try harder to impress a potential mate, and even herbivore females will eat meat offerings from a male. Prey is abundant in this season! It rains every so often and the temperatures are balanced. Hatchlings born in spring are the healthiest of them all!

Summer [X] - This is the hottest season, and when droughts are really rough. Prey is abundant only at night and it barely rains. Little to no clouds are seen and many plants die. Hatchlings born in summer are more likely to die of lack of food and/or water, but many still survive. The dragons that live their life in water also face a minor death toll. Water shortage. Temperatures are hot! Aggression is increased in this season, and competition over resources are common.

Fall [] - This is the rainy season that relieves all life from the hot season of summer. It rains and thunderstorms often, the leaves turning colors before dropping from their trees. Prey is regular and are fattening up for the winter. Some dragons are even starting stockpiles so that do not need to hunt in the cold winter. Hatchlings born in this season are likely to get ill and sometimes even die.

Winter [] - This is the hardest season of the year! Many hatchlings get sick and die during this season due to shortage of prey, warmth, and shelter. Eggs laid in this season are most likely to go into hibernation if not warmed. Prey is very scarce and dragons that live in water are having a hard time to find place to surface for air.

Sephina's Kingdom

Territory Description: Sephina's territory is in a huge valley. The mountains that surround it are white with snow and the grass in the valley below is a lush green. Forests, creeks, and meadows are abundant, along with a river here and there. All water flows to the main source - a lake right smack dab in the middle of the territory. Human civilizations and villages are usually located near the rivers and lake. The lake is Frozen Lake, for the way it freezes so very quickly in late fall. There is plenty of farmland with growing crops that feed the mortals, along with much grazing land for cattle and livestock. Game is easy to find in the forests and deer are very common in the clearings. The biggest city, especially for trade, is Delali. Sephina, however lives farther away in her lair, a naturally huge cave in the side of a mountain. Some types of rare flowers grow in those very few warm spots in the mountains, attracting humans that collect flowers and trespassers to sell them. However, winters are killers for the valley, even if the weather isn't so bad.
Lair Description: Sephina's lair is naturally a huge cave in the side of the biggest mountain on her territory. It's like a labyrinth, only her and her goblin minions know the passageways. In one room is a huge nest-like bed that has a skeleton made of branches and logs, filled with feathers and grasses, her resting chamber. In one very close to that is filled with heaping piles of gold and statues, her "safe". Other various, small rooms are for the goblins. There is a clearing somewhere in there where goblins hold their religious ceremonies to their goblin god, fight, etc.
Other: Sephina's message to other dragons, "Do not trespass, or I will have your scales for my lair!"

Sky's Kingdom

Territory Description:
Lake-
It is a large lake with two rivers going around it. The rivers are fairly deep. The lake in the middle is about 100 ft deep. No non-swimming dragon would dare to go in, for fear of being eaten by a water dragon that is said to live in it. Only the ones in the kingdom know that it is a lie. There is a small island in the middle.
Woods-
The woods is divided in four different denses. The one on the north is very shadowed and dense. It has barely any light shinning in. The trees are mostly dead. But still have leaves on the branches. The one on east is slightly brighter. Light shines in some areas. It has some trees dead. The one in the south is very bright. Only shadows from the tress. There are creeks and ponds all throughout it. The one on the west is a little denser. It is mostly the same as the east.
Fields-
The fields are a good large size. It is flat. It is right in the middle of the woods. The woods make shadows dance across it all day. The shadows may tease the dragons at times though.
Lair Description: Her lair is under the island in the middle of the lake. There is a entrance to it that has a scale at. The scale from her back, half white half black. The lair steeps down under the land and into a large room. There are holes near the top. But are hard to see. Goblis and Fire snakes, made from Sky's own breath, will seep out and attack any who dares to enter without permission. There is a hole in the middle. The hole is where Sky puts the loot and treasures. If it's gold. She will melt it all down.

Territory Description: Samudra's Territory consists mainly of a large lake surrounded by dense wooded valley surround by a ring of mountains that is rich with prey animals such as deer, moose, rabbits and variety of other small animals (Click, Click) on the eastern shore there is a small mining village that pays him a monthly tribute of gold and precious gems as well as A large meat offering in the winter months(Click) In return he doesn't eat them.
Lair Description: On the north side of the lake's rocky bottom there is a opening in the rock that leads to Samudra's lair (Click). Most of the lair is underwater (Click, ignore the submarine) with a large natural air pocket where Samudra stores his treasure (Click)

Territory Description: Click, Click, Click. There are no villages, just lots of caves. Dotted around.. You'll have to find them yourself.
Lair Description: It is an ice cave. Cold, dark an glittering. It has almost, a sinsister appeal to it that makes many scales crawl. It is damp and hidden away from all who would oppose them. The shadows create a blue light that almost makes it romanic to be in. They air is cold and humid at the same time and this is comfortable for the leaders and the gold. The water that drips over the gems make the shine with brillance. Click.

Territory Description: It's a rocky type of territory, it's in a valley surrounded by rocks, it's got a grassy plain, with 5 caves one for the Leader and her mate, the other for there hoard, and another for there food in winter, it's got flowers all over it in spring, but in summer it's got sparse growth sparse vegetation, and in winter it gets showed by the over hanging rocks, they've got a huge lake on the left side of the territory, It's got a inside pool for winter when the one outside dries up, the last 2 are for the minions, it also has one entrance and one exit, which is the front area of it, were all of the rocks meet, it's usually a bit dark, but sometimes sunlight gets in and brightens up.
Lair Description: The inside of the caves have all got some small pools at the back for winter, and a part for there food, it's a rocky type of cave with a bare patch, were they sleep, some of the caves are Medium sized, then some of them are huge, it's all shared out with in all of the dragons.

Pierra's Territory

Territory Description: It is somewhat of a rainforest, with trees blocking out most of the sunlight, where you would envision something to come out of the shadows as it is always dark and foggy, with all the really tall trees with lots of branches blocking out the sunlight Click ignore the fairy. A large dragon could very easily get lost in here. The trees are ginormous, with the bear sized her being able to fit into one of the spaces under the roots. In the middle of it, there lies a giant clump of trees with different branches for nests, with there being some under the roots, in the branches and much much more.these trees are a little smaller than the ones in her rainforest. Click the tree only.In one of these trees is where she makes her lair. It is hard to get out of the forest once you are in it as the fog muddles senses. There are lots of prey living in the forest, but there is a type of bird that lets out a sound like a gong that resonates throughout the forest, confusing the dragons in there to wonder around till they die. only Pierra understands what they say and is able to converse with them. There are lots of these birds, crying out when they see a dragon, alerting Pierra. Click only the birds. The trees do have leaves, but it is a dark ominous green. There are lots of herbs and healing plants here, but with the fog, darkness and sound of multiple gongs resonating here and there no one usually notices them as they kill your brain.
Lair Description: The place where she rests is in one of the trees, a normal nest hidden in the leaves. She spends many hours in here, doing her own thing. Her loot is gold, stored in the nest opposite to hers, and completely "unprotected." But she doesnt mind. She will get it back when she kills the dragon. She also has an obsession with another type of loot, kept in another nest, it is either a scale or a horn or a claw from each dragon that has perished in her territory. She calls these her precious. Her bird minions live everywhere from the other spare nests to the roots to the rest of the forest. She has lots of them.

Zanna's Territory

Dragon's Mate: Never!
Territory Description:It's a thick and dense forest, usually clouded with mist and fog. Water is hard to find here if your lost, the easiest one to found is the waterfall by the small lake since it's very loud, though many small ponds and lakes are scattered, hidden by bushes and trees or sheltered by rock. In the middle of the forest, there is a deep and dark trench that is camouflaged by the large bushes and brambles growing alongside it. On the walls of this deep trench are many different caves where only dragons can maneuver in and out of. In the biggest, there is a small pool of water and walls with veins of glittering gems embedded into them. A tunnel connects this to a cave on the surface of the forest. The minions stay in here, dogs conjured out of sludge and the occasional goblin.
Lair Description: The lair is a cave in the trench, it's perches very down under, invisible if you peer into the trench from the top. The cave has a sort of 'moat'- a deep dip at the entrance filled with Zanna's old burning sludge. Across that is a nice space, some loot strewn untidily around the place.Unprotected? No, it isn't even all of her treasures. The rest of her loot is hidden somewhere secret in the cracks and crevices in the cave. A few minions stay in her lair, Zanna likes talking to them. They guard her loot fiercely. There are a few gems jutting out of wall as well, and a single torch placed on the ground lights all of them up slightly and fills the cave with a faint colorful glow.

Thunder & Lightining's Territory
Dragon's Name: Thunder & Lightning (Look at my Username)
Dragon's Mate: Tis a sorrow, for I do not have one...
Territory Description: I have a huge mountain range, and lots of caves/holes in them. They are extremly tall mountains, all in a circle, with a huge, lush green vally in it. the vally is covered with flowers, and a huge waterfall runs in a lake in the valley, supplied by a river that come's from his den's mountain. Often, one of the caves in the mountain's side are well hidden, and often have other caves connecting. There are exactly 563 mountains and about 125 entrance caves per each mountain, making it a perfect living space. There is a mountain (the 564th) which has his den, a humoungous meeting room, and 50 huge treasuries, supplied by the years of slowly accumilating it. Currently, only 24 of the treasure rooms have been filled, the 24th with only a few peices.
His territory is often called "the dragon Haven" for he is a just and wise dragon, even though he can be a little irritable. the valley also has lots of boulders warmed by the sun, perfect for dragons who are lazy! The boulders are near the lake, which dragons love to swim in. The beach of the lake is made out of the purest sand, some ground gems in it to make it "prettier."
Lair Description: i have a huge sleeping cave, which is near the back of my mountain. I have 5 treasuries 3 filled, the 4th only with a few peices, where I keep my treasure (and when I'm feeling nice, I sometimes donate it... Only a little, though.) And a huge meeting room/eating. I have a small set of caves for my "minions" (i prefer to call them servants) so that I can keep my privacy.
Other: Other dragons are welcome to come, but they need to obey his every word!

Black's Territory

Territory Description: Click. A large territory mostly consisting of grasslands. There are countless minor creeks and ponds, life thriving for miles around. There are no human villages whatsoever, and you can most likely see many cattle herds traveling.

8. Vampire dragons and purple dragons are rare! Please PM me first if you wish to roleplay one and ask before allowing a vampire dragon to bite an egg. Also, after you have my permission and apply for a purple dragon, please put the 4 elements they mastered in the Type section.

28. Do NOT, ever, use ANYTHING from this thread unless you ASK for permission first! If you use it without asking first, then that is considered theft! Especially if you don't give credit, or say you made it!
29. Every month, there will be an activity check. Anyone who does not participate in the activity check, will be considered inactive. Their dragons will be moved to Storage in the Statistics page. If they do not announce their presence for a week, then their dragons will be deleted!
30. You're allowed to roleplay as a human or minion when roleplay calls for it.
31. Eggs and hatchlings can be adopted! The members' dragons that are the parents will decide whether or not to allow an egg/hatchling be put up for adoption. This means that they're allowing another member to play as that egg/hatchling. To apply to adopt one, PM both members who roleplay the parents.
32. No time element dragons unless you PM me and ask first!
33. Dragons can only have 1 element unless you PM me and ask to have more than one first! They can have multiple powers in their element, however. i.e. Ice dragons have ice breath, frost breath, cold white fire, etc. Anything that goes along with their element.

Looks: Click Where do you think her legs are? That is a question asked by many. Some say she doesnt have any but when she is in fights, the dragon she fought, if it still lives, remembers multiple sets of claws holding him. How strange... She is smaller than most dragons, around the size of a bear.
Type: Vampire Dragon - Green fire. Her fire is a corrosive like substance, making things shrivel up as if acid was poured on them if close enough. She does fly. To compensate for her size her claws, wing tips, teeth and tail are all secreted with a deadly poison she can release at will. The poison kills by cutting down all nerves so it feels kinda numbing. You are dead in an hour if a dragon and a few seconds if you are a mouse. She is incredibly fast and quiet.
