Sometimes i see pictures of two diffrent colored wolves with black pups. Is that because their family members might have been a black wolf? Or could the other wolf not be the mate and the real mate is black?

Yes, the genes probably still have some melanosis in them from previous Black wolf relatives. Genes are tricky, so correct me if i'm wrong. Not too sure on this one.

For your information. Wikipedia isn't the best site to be doing searches with. Anyone could touch and mess what the info. So this fact, "George Washington was the first president of the United States." could go to be, "George Washington discovered the first purple llama." I suggest using sites that end in .gov and .org. Don't use .com or .net for information like that.

Wikipedia's information on black wolves is correct, in this case. If you google "how do black wolves get their fur color" or anything similar to that, you will find that accurate sites also post that wolves get their fur color from breeding with domestic dogs. I was using the wikipedia article as an example.

I judge the sources, not the site.
dummies.com wrote:•Look for a slant. Some articles are fair and balanced, but others look more like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If an article has only one source, beware.

•Consider the source. Even if an article cites external sources, check out those sources to see whether they are being cited fairly and accurately — and do, in fact, reinforce the article's points.

•Look who's talking. If you research the contributors themselves and find that they are experts in their fields, you can be more confident in the entry.

Usually these guidelines can indicate whether you can/should trust the information.
