Snakepaw looked at her and realized he had never met this cat before. He was suddenly nervous and he tried hard not to blink.

Lilypaw noticed a new cat.
"Hi!" she said happily. "I'm Lilypaw!"
Her long cream fur shone in the sunlight.

Snakepaw looked at her and realized he had never met this cat before. He was suddenly nervous and he tried hard not to blink.

"Uh... I'm Lilypaw," she stuttered. She didn't get it. Lilypaw was usually brave and outgoing. But Snakepaw made her feel... odd.

Snakepaw couldn't take it anymore, he blInked, but when he opened his eyes, they were blood red.
