And if they did that, as I'm a hardcore fan of Erik, it'd have to be super close to the actual story. We'd have a physically deformed dog...? I don't think they'd go for that. As much as I love it.

I love Gerard Butler as Erik and all, but, c'mon! He's supposed to look like a death's head.

EDIT: And besides, that, is a copyrighted character too. It'd be like requesting Edward Cullen dogs. Gaston Leroux would turn over in his grave.

Its body would shine, silver like a star. It seems to be glowing. It had a silver mane and tail and forelock, each with a few hidden like black strands. The eyes are a hypnotic ice blue, and the hooves are a classic grey. There is a symbol on the hind quarters, a Crescent moon with a S next to it.
