Kendall sighed, sort of confused by his answer. "Close but not cigar," she told him, a phrase she always used to used. She was relieved he didn't know exactly what she'd whispered into her ear, but felt confused at his question-for-answer at the end.

"oh. let me try again. she was wondering if your handsome friend there was taken." richard said jokeningly

Kendall's blush deepened and she felt her ears burning hot. Thankfully her face wasn't in Richard's view. "Uh, yeah, that's what she'd been asking...but in a more...detailed way," she stammered. Annabelle had asked her if he was her mat, to which she had said no. She smiled, loving that old grey fox; they'd been friends since she mved to this town, and even knew of her secrets and powers.

richard laughed. "tell im sorry. but foxes just arent my type."

Kendall laughed and faced Richard, her face back to it's normal colour. "She knows I can turn into a wolf and human too, so she just took on that mental picture, Richard," she smiled. "You can't blame her for asking; you're the first person I've actually had a decent conversation with or been around for a long while."

richard stopped laughing. he now knew exactly what the fox had said. "oh."

Kendall sighed and said, "Yeah..." She played with the silt on the bootom of the stream bed, tracing patterns in the sandy-bank with her fingers. "Sorry if she or I offended you or anything..."
