Emerald saw the two kiss and looked away, not wanting to intrude. There seemed to be an awful lot of romance going on for a group of pirates. She didn't mind though, she was a sap when it came to romance. She almost grinned through the rapid coughs and shivering. "Finally!" she said to herself and stood, using the canon as a crutch. The edge of the storm was like the light at the end of the tunnel, and as it became clearer and brighter, she felt herself cheer up.

Kali ducked down when she heard shouting. It didn't sound like the usual shouting, laced with panic and depression like it was during the storm, the shouts were cheerful and relived. The girl smiled to herself, and crawled back to the stairs to the water-filled brig. She looked around, then headed back to where she hid, behind a few wooden boxes filled with cannon balls. Kali brushed a few brown strands of hair out of her dirt covered face. She smiled to herself, remembering the days when she was a street rat.

Liam laughed and took a few steps away from Ingo, letting go of her hand so that he could keep his balance on the slippery deck. A gust of wind blew against him and he staggered, but it wasn't enough to put him overboard. He heard the snap of loose rope and the whooshing of something heavy in the air far too late- the mast spar that had broken loose during the storm collided with the man's ribs and hurled him over the rail, down, down, into the churning ocean. He hit the water with a splash and vanished beneath the waves, a thin line of crimson showing where he had sunk.

Ingo smiled at Liam gently, using her now free hand to grip onto anything to help her staty upright. She wobbled and slipped onto her back with the wind, but on hearing the worrying, Snap, Thunk, Splash, she tried desperately to scrabble to her feet. Managing only in the last second to look over the rail, seeing a fast dissappearing figure. "Man overboard!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, trying to keep the panic out her faltering voice.
Rodney's eyes shot wide in alarm, "We've lost someone!" he squealed and ran up to the deck, looking around wildly, trying to see what had happened.

"Oh, not this-" chocked Sonja, letting go of the wheel in her panic. "Not now... Ingo!" She was shouting at the first mate. She hadn't seen what had passed between her and Liam- she had been too busy trying to steer them through the storm. "Take the wheel! Melody!" Melody had rushed up onto the deck after Rodney, stunned by the shouts of Man overboard! She snapped to attention at the navigator's shout. "Yess'm?" "Lower one of the rowboats- you and I are going fishing." Melody saluted and made her way as quickly as she could to the side Liam had fallen from, tugging at the rope until it came loose and began whizzing around the pulley. The quartermaster grabbed it, leaving ropeburns on her hands, and held the rope steady until Sonja jumped into the rowboat and grabbed the other rope. Melody joined her, and together they dropped the boat down onto the ocean, searching for where Liam had fallen. A trail of faint bubbles on the surface and the slight tinge of blood was enough to tell them where he had hit the water.

Ingo rushed over to take the wheel. She knew she wouldn't be able to bear it if she wear the one searching for him. She tried to steer steadily, but her hand were shaking badly. Rodney put his tiny jacket over her shoulders, in an attempt to comfort her and to keep her warm, but the winds were still feirce, so she handed it back with a smile that was almost passable for calm. Her breathing was fast and her thoughts reeled to the worst. Not again, not today... she thought, a tear rolled down her cheek, masked by the still pounding rain.
Betty stayed below, fretting for Liam's life, thought she did not know it was he who had been thrown overboard. She sighed and fumbled, still glancing at Indigo and checking her breathing and pulse as often as possible.

Kali stayed in the brig, in a shadow. She bit her lip slightly at the shouts of 'Man overboard.' She then shook her head, trying to clear it. Why should she be worrying about the crew this much? It wasn't her crew and she didn't even know them. Kali sighed slightly and looked down at the dark water, which was up to her knees.

"Hold the boat steady!" called Sonja to Melody over the howling wind. "Yes'm!" yelled the redhead in reply, grabbing the small tiller of the tiny boat in her hand and holding it in place. Sonja took a deep breath, then dove into the water with a small splash. Melody gasped with shock and almost let go, but then the boat would drift away and both of them would be lost at sea. She waited in nervous anticipation for a few moments, but then a sodden dark head appeared above the waves. It was Sonja, lugging Liam's body aboard the dingy. The navigator patted his face a couple of times, then whacked him hard on the back. Liam choked, coughed up a lungful of seawater, and sneezed several times in succession. But he was most certainly alive.

((Okie doke everyone))
Ingo tried to steady her grip on the wheel, for she was shaking nervously, and this most certainly wasn't because of the cold. Keeping the ship steady was becoming easier, they were slowly slipping out of all remnants of the storm, hopefully Ireland would soon be in sight so Indigo - and most probably Liam - could be seen to. Even this thought didn't bring comfort to the girl though, for she had no idea right now who was dead and who was alive. Betty hadn't emerged for a while, and nor had Sonja. Everything, for Ingo, was hanging in the balance.
