@ xXSnowAngelXx, Katniss's eyes are grey. But yes, I agree they got the looks all wrong. I know the acting is more important and I actually think Jennifer is going to be AMAZING as Katniss, but would it
really have been so hard for her to wear grey contact lenses? Plus she has the wrong build for Katniss. Katniss is supposed to be small and skiny. As for Josh Hutcherson, he seems a good Peeta but I am very disappointed that they didn't dye his hair. Another thing that annoys me is... the Katniss's hair on the reaping day (I saw a picture). Obviously it's a very minor detail, but wasn't her hair supposed to be piled on top of her head? Not in a bun. And the shoes are wrong, they were supposed to match the dress...
Anyways... back to the books, Katniss is DEFINITELY my favourite character. Finnick probably comes second, or else Peeta. I think Katniss is one of the best book protagonists I've read about: she has a good few realistic flaws, like not always making the best decisions, and perhaps she's not the most heroic person out there, but she's terrified of rebelling, and hey, in reality, people aren't always prepared to put their and their friends' and family's life on the line in order to rebel against an unfair sistem, even if that means letting them kill 23 teenagers every year. Even just decorating Rue in flowers and doing the stunt with the berries was pretty brave of her. Unlike most book protagonists, her personality could actually be classified as
interesting. For her, things that are personal are priorities, as mentioned above with the heriocness. She tends not to trust people, and doesn't always keep clear sight of her goals, like the time she became angry with the Capitol because of Rue, but later hesitated about rebelling. It takes something personal - heck, it takes a LOT of personal things - to motivate her, and honestly I think her reactions are similar to how a real person would have reacted in her place. Plus, unlike, again, many book protagonists, she is
actually affected by what happens to her. It's not often you see that in characters. I think she has more development and a more interesting personality than the other characters, and the fact that you constantly know what's going on in her head while you can only guess and read her guesses about what's going on in other character's head doesn't hurt either.
Peeta I like because he's just so devoted to Katniss, as for Finnick, well, it's pretty much impossible NOT to like Finnick.
Disapproval wrote:I agree that the girl in the video is a good actress and I've seen the video. I honestly think the girl who did get chosen will do a great job based off her previous movies. I hope to go see the movie at midnight but most likely won't. I'm using my birthday as an excuse for seeing the movie even though there is over a month difference.
I agree, both about Jenn and the girl in the video. Incidentally, my birthday is just three days before the movie comes out. I'm using it as an excuse too.
