"Why are you so determined to learn my life's story?" Enishi asked Alice.

Tomoe was walking along side Balik as they entered the town."How about some apples boy?" She said as she kept a hand on his shoulder.

Balik didn't like crowds, so he was a bit skittish. He always had people ask about him because they knew he wasn't a native breed. He was way bigger than any horse of Japan.

"Because you're hiding something, and I want to know what it is. Because this has to do with people I know. Because I'm a curious little girl." Alice began. "And I'm just never satisfied after the surface of something has been uncovered. I'll keep searching, diving deeper, and deeper, until I find the bottom of the story. Because only then can I judge. Only then can I give my opinion on what's right and what's wrong." Alice looked him in the eye, daring him to tell her it was wrong.

"Whatever. Ask Sano for the rest of the story. I have to go find Tomoe." Enishi said as he picked up his blade and walked towards the door.

Tomoe found some apples and bought them. She gave one to Balik and put the rest in the bag over her shoulder. They sat by the river and rested while Balik enjoyed the apple.


Kenshin was watching Yahiko mumble about his training."Yahiko, I don't think Miss Karou is going to be happy if she hears you!" He warned.

"Fine, grumpy-pants." Alice said, sticking out her tongue as she walked back over to Sano.

"You don't think i'll be happy if I hear what?" Kaoru asked in a mock sweet tone, appearing from the door behind Kenshin.

"Eh....oh..hi Miss Karou!" Kenshin says holding his hands up innocently." ...uh...how long have you been standing there?"

Balik took a drink from the river and then waded out and played in the water.

"Sometimes I think you are part dog, Balik..." Tomoe said as she took a bit out of an Apple.

Killua just looked lost and embarrassed when he watched the two adults glare at each other down. He looked toward his father but that was when he noticed that his father left him. KIllua just fumed quietly while holding his new katana and Tora.

'Sano. Explanation." Alice said looking up at Sano. Sano quietly explained, not wanting Killua to hear what he was saying.

"still missing...." Alice mumbled under her breath. "I'm still missing something here! Something important."

"Oh, just now. so, what exactly won't I be happy to hear?" The fake smile was still on Kaoru's face.

"Uhh...nothing Miss Karou....really...",Kenshin tried to explain.

Balik waded deeper into the river where he could swim freely, without worry for the rocks. He whinnied at Tomoe.

"Nice try Balik...I'm not getting wet again!" She said, Laughing at the stallion.

Enishi walked through the field, looking for Tomoe.
