"Let's just say that several years ago, Sano and I had some fights...you see...he is friends with the man who murdered my sister,and Tomoe's mother."Enishi replied to Alice.'
I will never forgive Kenshin for what he did. He killed my sister, and I will never forget that.' he thought to himself.
Flashback
...."No!...sister! Please stay here!" Enishi begged Tomoe not to go outside where the two men were fighting. He held a tiny newborn baby in his arms.
"Enishi, please take care of my daughter for a while, ok? I have to stop this fight!" Tomoe said as she then ran outside.
"Please be careful, sister...please..." Enishi cried as he held his niece...he didn't dare go outside, not with two warriors fighting. All of a sudden...everything went quite...
Enishi snuck out the back of the house and hid behind a tree, still holding his newborn niece. Shock came over his face as he saw his sister,Tomoe, lying in a pool of blood...the Battousai holding her, crying. His sword, stained crimson, lying in the snow.
"I'll never forgive you, Battousai....never." he ran, not looking back. He stopped when he got to a village and looked down at the sleeping baby in his arms."ill protect you,and never let you know what happened. Your name shall be Tomoe, after your mother." ((Oohh.....yes.....twist on trust&betrayal! Kenshin doesn't even know!lol))

Sano was about to argue in Kenshin's defense, but Alice cut him off. "Tomoe sure doesn't seem like the type of person who knows her mom was murdered. And why didn't the father take her in? Seeing as that tends to be who takes care of the child." Alice stared at him, she wasn't going to let Enishi get away without telling her the whole story.
The lantern glows
In a flickering gold
And the wolves onyx eyes
Grow slowly more bold
"Come to me, child,
Come keep me warm"
"Come now child,
Aren't you here to perform?"
But as you stand still
In the very same place
A shocking scowl
Comes over her face
And her fair onyx eyes
Grow a shade much too cold
And they seem to tell stories
That should have never been told
She screams and she howls
And seethes with rage
And what seemed to be young
Is now showing age
So be quick now child
Do not stay
For instinct has told you
To run away.

"Bits and pieces." Alice muttered. Sano looked at her, his eyes questioning. Her voice was... different than usual. "All you tell is bits and pieces. Never the full story. Never the circumstances. Only bits and pieces." Alices eyes were cold as she looked up at Enishi.

((Yeah, it would. I can just imagine Yahiko pestering Kenshin about why the kid looks like him. Now that I think about it... I can imagine Kaurou also pestering him. XD ))

"Wait... Alice closed her eyes and thought for a second. "Judging by Tomoe's appearance she's around 18-20... Wouldn't that put the time of her birth around the war?" Alice fell back into deep thought.
