Icepath jerked awake awkwardly, feeling the movement of Appleberrys body at his side. "Hmm?" He blinked grogilly, having gotten absolutely no dreamless sleep whatsoever. "Appleberry?" He murmured, hauling himself onto unsteady paws before following after her, confusion on his face. "Are you alright?" He asked her softly, nudging her hip slightly.

Appleberry calmed her breathing and looked at Icepath's concerned face. "Y-yes. I'm okay." she meowed and sat down stiffly. Why did you take him now StarClan? she cried out silently, begging for an answer.

Slipping back inside, the dark-furred leader almost mistook the shape of Whispertail for Kitewing, and this left a sharp pang to tear through his heart. He had to get her back. Not just for the Clan, for her kits, to get Echostorm of his back.... But because he needed her here, with him. "How are the kits?" He questioned, hating out his voice sounded croaky and broken. e should be strong, not sounding like a kit who had lost everything.

Whisper pricked up her ears as she heard someone approach, her fur bristling as her motherly instinct to protect the kits kicked in. Breathing a sigh of relief as she realised it was only Blackstar, she calmed herself down, fur flat once again. "Sorry..." Glancing down at the sleeping kits as her leader asked about them, she smiled and nodded. "They're doing fine. Don't worry about it. I'll watch them until your mate gets back." The pain in his voice was shocking... Reminded her a little of herself when her mate disappeared.

He nodded and sat down, stretching his forelegs out in front of him. He watched the kits, and they reminded him terribly of Kitewing. "Uh.. Whispertail? Thank you for looking after them. I didn't ask you just as a leader, but as the kit's father. I know I'm not their true father, but Kitewing will want me to do what's best for them while she's away." His voice still sounded horrible, and his throat felt sore from talking. "Once the Clan has rested, I'm sending out a patrol to get them all back. I want you in charge of the nursery. Look after all the kits, younger appentices too."

Whisper nodded, listening to her leader as he asked her to watch over the kits and young apprentices. But what if her kits came while they were away...? Her facial expression betrayed the nerves she was feeling, although her leader would have picked up on those and figured out why she was feeling that way already, so she didn't really need to worry about that. "I hope your mission is successful."
