We were taught in a foreign languge class that the first thing you do wen you meet someone is to shke their hand and introduce yourself. Since I can't actually shake your hand, I'll give you a virtual handshake, Tess. "Hello, my username is 'Mione, though I used to be magicwolf♫. You might remember me. It's nice to see you again. Thanks for letting me apply for this postion and here's my application. Goodbye and thank you."

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: Sun Mar 07, 2010 11:34 am
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1671
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Well, since I'm going back to school I honestly don't know. School runs until about 3:00 for me, and then I have to do homework and such, but if possible I could probably visit 2 days a week for almost the whole day and two other days a week for about 10 minutes. In the summer, though, I’ll be on almost every day, so 3-6 days a week.
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-10, closer to 10, though, a lot of the time around 5-10. My mom says I’m obsessed.
5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
Sadly no, sorry.
6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Oh yeah, I use it all the time. My parents bought me a tablet for my birthday and I love to draw on the oekaki. It make me feel special when people comment on my drawings and escially special when people adopt an octopus from my adoptable octopus shop or enter one of my contests. Not to mention I love winning contests.
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: I’m not intermediate worthy, but I love looking at the art there. It’s so spectacular and I love commenting on my favorites. Seeing people’s reactions to being featured is just so, I don’t know, warming. It makes me happy for them since they’ve put so much work into the drawing and the CS community is really appreciating it.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: I love CS. I really want to help out in some way to make it a better community. This site has given me so much, people to talk to about Harry Potter, a place for my art and stories to get seen, a way to remember my old dog, people who judge me by my actions and not by my face. This is a wonderful site.
Until recently, though, I was a COPPA. That was really hard waiting for all my posts to be approved by a moderator so that my draws and posts on the oekaki could be seen. I would check all the time to see if my post had been approved yet and I would nearly cheer whenever it went through in just a few minutes. It was agonizing, though, when I had to wait hours to get it approved. All I wanted to do was share my art and my voice and it was just so frustrating. I knew, and I know now, that all the CS staff have lives outside of CS, but being wating was just hard for me. I am now Un-COPPA’d and I want to help out so that the COPPAs have less wait time. I know the feeling of having to wait and feeling like you’re trapped in a bubble that people can’t really hear you through. I want to make it easier on the COPPAs who have a hard time waiting. I want to help them know that there are people there who really want to help and who know what they’re going through. I want to get their posts approved so that they can share their voice and their art so the CS community can hear.
I have also talked to various staff, and although they are people just like you and me, I always some how consider talking to them as an honor. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the colored names, maybe it’s just because they are the staff. Some how, though, I always think of them as high and mighty. If I became part of the staff it would prove to me that anyone can do it. Even me, ‘Mione, who really hasn’t done anything spectacular on CS could do it. I could be part of the staff. If I became part of the staff I could show people that we’re regular people, just like the next user. All we did was apply or be asked to be part of the staff. I’ve also found all of the staff to be really kind to everyone. I feel like they understand and they really truly do want to help out everyone. They speak like we’re equals, who we are, I guess, and they respond to our posts that are meant to talk to them. All in al, they are a group very caring people which I would love to be a part of so that I could do what they do and help influence people into being kind.
I also really want to be able to help people realize their talents. People who don’t feel confident enough to post in the intimidate, but are good enough, make me really want the power to move their drawings. I want to show them they’re not beginners, no, their intermediate. There are amazing artists who post in beginners, mostly because they don’t think they’re intermediate worthy. They could be afraid people could diss them or that their art will be moved. By moving it into intermediate I could prove to them that people won’t do that and that they are worthy. I could help them develop confidence and maybe next time they would post there, where they belong. I also heard that the moderators are the ones who help drawings get featured. I really want to help great, but not well know artists get featured so that their amazing art gets noticed. Showing people that you don’t have to be popular to be good is really important. It may take time to get noticed, but some people get discouraged because they no one seems to notice their art. If I could feature some of their art then maybe they would feel more confident about their art and know that they’re still a good artist, no matter if they get 1,000 comments or two. This goes hand in hand with giving people critics when they ask for them. Lots of people do amazing drawings and ask for critics but never get any, just comments saying the drawing is “good” or “cool” or its awsemome dude” (Awesome is spelled wrong on purpose, as well as it’s.) I want to help these people out by giving critics and comments, as well as maybe inspiring other people to do it so that the person gets what they really want.
In conclusion I really want to be an oekaki artist for many reasons, but mostly to help the community as the community has helped me. I want encourage and inspire as the staff as encouraged and inspired me. Thanks so much for opportunity, this is amazing that you let regular users just essentially “try out” for the role of an oekaki moderator. Thanks again.

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?): I tend to be really understanding person, who doesn’t like fights and tries to break them up. I try to stitch friendships back together and help out to make both sides of a fight understand each other. Other than that I’m OK with technology and I can always ask my computer teacher for help since I have computer class twice a week. I also can help out on middle-school writing but why that would help with this is something that escapes me. I have a great knowledge of Harry Potter and MLP 9Why that would help is confusing). I do know a lot about the oekaki, though, and can help out with lock alpha, making a brush look like a crayon, coloring things in and such. I can’t meditate, unfortunately, but I’m pretty good at being calm and I can take a bunch of people asking me questions. I always am ready to help out people and solve their problem.

Thank you so much for a chance to do this, this is amazing. I know that my application won’t be as good as some people’s applications, or maybe most people’s, but once again thanks for the opportunity. If I get the chance to be an oekaki moderator, I will do everything I promised in this application and even more. I will try my best to help out with everything. Thanks.

‘Mione

A question for Tess: (I'd prefer if only Tess or another moderator could answer this please, for I do not believe that any other member would fully know the answer to this question, even though it could easily be guessed. Thank you!)

Would Oekaki Moderators (or Role Playing Mods., though it doesn't neccesarily relate to this) be able to block or edit posts in other forums, such as General Chat? I know that this question was asked a few pages back, but I'm not sure that any moderators saw it. Though I realize that they mainly enforce around the Oekaki boards, would we have the power to edit posts outside of the boards?

What date did you register as a CS member?: March 4th, 2011
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1,856
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Usually 6-7
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2 hours on weekdays, 5+ hours on weekends
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them I used to have my own forums, similar to this one (because I used freeforums.org and the layout/emoticons/etc were the same) but it expired or something, so I just stuck to chickensmoothie.com.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? All the time! It's like the only drawing program I use now.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes, when I have some spare time, I like to browse through the pages and pages of art.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
First of all, I love the Oekaki boards. I enjoy drawing and sharing drawings and sharing thoughts on other drawings and... you get the point. The main reason I come on CS is to spend time in Oekaki. And I always wanted to help the Oekaki boards in a way that didn't make me seem like an annoying mini-mod. In other words, I wanted to be an Oekaki Moderator. I love helping people out when they have a question about Oekaki, and I love feeling helpful and productive. And since I spend most of my time in the Oekaki boards, it'd be perfectly perfect.
I feel bad about what I did when I first joined (when I copied the Derp dog avatars) I didn't know better, and I felt so bad. Since then I wanted to make up for it and I've been extra-cautious when posting art and I've practically memorized the Rules.
Another thing, my neighbors have kids that are 5-8 years old. I love little kids and I know that there are a lot of little kids on CS. I want to make sure they don't see anything innapropriate.
So to sum it all up, I love helping people, I love the Oekaki boards, I spend a lot of time there, and I want to put my time on CS to good use.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) My friends say I have good 'people skills.' Don't really know what they mean, and don't really know if that applies on the internet too, but at least that's something.
I have my own advice column for my school newspaper.
When ever I make an Editable, and someone breaks my rules, I handle it in a way that nobody gets angry and the problem gets resolved. So, I feel that I can inforce rules firmly but politely.

Thank you for considering me, and even if I don't get chosen, thanks for taking the time to choose the perfect people for the job to insure the CS stays running smoothly. :)

What date did you register as a CS member?: Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 3894
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: At least three, if not more. I visit as often and for as long as possible in my spare time.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: 1-4.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: None before. :)
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yes.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Of course I do! I love giving crit to artists or looking for collabs to join. CS has amazingly talented artists. :)
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: Because CS gives so much to me and I want to give something back. Art is one of my favorite things to do; I doodle during almost every class I have at my school and by the end of the day will walk home with a finished, shaded, still life drawing. It's actually really fun.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?: I am really good at turning bad situations to good ones. I know how to calm people down and I like helping. :)

No... you would be an Oekaki Moderator, not a global moderator.
