@Tess or Nick

Deleting, editing, or locking off-topic posts, bullying, inappropriate content, and spam from within the oekaki boards

If an Oekaki moderator sees something outside of the Oekaki that goes against cs rules, do we have the ability to fix it or do we have to report it to a moderator in that area of cs. Im just wondering about this, as there may be no other moderators online at the time.

Thank you Marquee Moony for answering my question

^^ If you don't want Tess to count your form, the best thing to do would be to go back and edit it out, as she might not see this post.

-Toad

I have to agree with Toadstool on this one. Going back and editing your post to something like 'Good luck' instead of a form may prevent you from accidentally becoming a moderator. If you've lost your post, just try to remember when you posted, and it should help you track down the page number and whatnot.

Actually, things such as good luck have been counted as spam in other tryout posts.

Edit it to something like; " I've changed my mind, ignore."
Or
"Please don't count me, I've changed my mind" instead.

I don't think oekaki moderators have the ability to lock topics/etc. anywhere but the oekaki forums. :3

APPLICATON
What date did you register as a CS member?: Dec 19, 2010

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 426

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Usually 7 unless I'm really busy

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: around 2-3

Have you moderated on any other forums before?: No

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: All the time!

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yes, I've spent hours looking over art before

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: Because I love looking over other people's art and comment on how amazing it is! And I love to use Oekaki myself (Even though I may not be that great at it...) so I'd like to help people that don't know how to use it or have questions learn more about it and be able to enjoy it as much as I do. I like helping people, especially new people, find their way around CS, and I am not afraid to stand up to someone who is doing something wrong.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: Well, I'm good at communicating with people (I joined the Speech team at school this year! Yay! ), so I will be able to tell people what's going on and answer any questions they have, and I spend 99.9% of my time on CS on Oekaki, so I have some experience. I'm not sure if that's what you were looking for or not...

I Shall Apply! =3

Postby Birchwood Hollow » Sun Sep 04, 2011 9:16 am

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: Sat Feb 12, 2011 2:05 pm

2.How many posts have you made in the forum: 1155

3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Everyday

4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 9 hours minimum, 12-14 max

5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? I have for a website, but it shut down.

6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? YES, and it is so much fun! I love the timer that come with Chibi paint, because it shows how hard for how long you worked on it.

7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Totaly! I love to look at the beginners and watch people get used to chibi paint, and watch them over time grow as artists. I also love the intermediate side to see which person feels they have grown more as an artist, or they need help. I love to give advice, or help people.

8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?I love to help people, but when a person feels like nobody appreciates their hard work and time they put into something, it's sad. It's even more sad if there is rude comments. Bullying shouldn't be tolerated. I am bullied in school, and I'm not about to let that happen to the people on here on CS, it's just down right mean! Of cource, I am mature to handle being yelled at, or have their anger towards me, I have a little brother who thinks he's all that and is extremely rude to me. I do calmly tell him that it was rude, and he should apologize. (cource that never happened D= ) I also have little cousins under 10 yrs of age, and they are nothing but rude, and I teach them that bullying is really mean.( yes, they've become much nicer) So I understand people under the age of 13 and can deal with rudness and bullying in a strong mature way.(NOTE: I'm not saying in anyway that everyone under age of 13 is a bully and rude. I was using my cousins as examples. Sorry if I offened anyone in anyway.)
I also just plain love to help people. I am on most of the day so I am also availible to answer questions. If I'm not online, I usually get an email on my phone which has internet. So Even at school, I will be able to check to see if anyone needs help or needs a question answered. I really love answering questions, and helping people it makes me feel really good on the inside to know that I just helped a person today! I love making friends, and I love to be all bubbly, but when the time comes to reinforce the rules I will. I've reffered some people on here and they usually come to me if they need help or a question, but if I'm an Oekaki mod, then I will have a better chance at helping more and more people!

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: Some peer mediation classes were taken. Mod and admin assistant to a site, which sadly shut down.

What date did you register as a CS member?: 4th May 2009
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 8185
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Every day.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 3 hours minimum ^^
Have you moderated on any other forums before? No, I have never had an opportunity to do so.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, quite a lot.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Almost every day, I will look, and comment on peoples art on the oekaki forum.
Now the important question (Why do I want to be an oekaki moderator?): I would LOVE to be an oekaki moderator, because of my passion for art. I love art, in all styles shapes and forms, and I would be delighted to be able to view other peoples work as one of my responsibilities. Myself as an artist, I'm not so good. But It would be a genuine pleasure, to see other young artist bloom and progress into the artist I have always wanted to be. I really do try to deposit a positive energy into everything I say and do on CS, just to give back the joy that it has brought me over the past 2 years and a bit. I will not under any circumstances tolerate art theft, as it is something I strongly believe against, as to work hard, and to be proud of something and then have someone claim it as theirs is very distressing, and distress is a negative energy nobody wants on CS, especially myself. I would like to maintain CS' good natured environment as best I can, as I can truly say, it has brought me great pleasure, and has helped me escape the troubles of the real world countless times, and I would hate to come on one day to find out that CS has turned out to be as bad as some societies are today. I also would like to keep the forums in order, to create less work for all the other mods, to be a general helping hand, as I understand some people post things in the wrong place without realising, and understandably, either they become paranoid about getting criticised for it, or others get irritated by others minor mistakes. So I would like to try and clear any mishaps as soon as possible, to save others worrying or snapping at people who never meant any harm. As a final aspect of why I would love the job, is because I put 100% effort into everything I do on CS, art, poems, posts, applications you name it, I will try to be No.1 in quantity + quality. I'm an organised person, and having this as a job would be my no.1 priority on CS. Before checking anything, I would make sure I had done my job. I always check the rules and policies on CS before correcting others, so I wouldn't ever falsely report or accuse someone, and I think it would be a genuinely wonderful experience, and I'd be doing something I love, so I'd be ridiculously dedicated.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position:
I Guess I'm quite a "get to the point" kind of person, I will tell people straight what they have done wrong/right.
I also am not someone who will be rude, or snap when people do something wrong, I simply will explain the situation in a short way, to save time.
I visit Google images, deviant art, and dragoart frequently, so if any copying or art theft is going on, I will make sure it is prevented.
I can relate to others feelings as I am a very empathetic person, and if there was a problem, I would listen to both sides of the situation to serve justice (Eesh I sound like a law expert >.<)
And My great Uncle, Is a...well know artist, lets put it, and I know a lot about art. (I'm just not particularly good at it x3)

I really am grateful for this amazing opportunity Tess. I have applied for moderation positions on CS in the past, but I think overall, this is my best shot, and my most desired position on CS :D I really do wish all my luck to all the other applicants, and I congratulate whoever gets the position! It will be exciting to find the new name in maroon..

What date did you register as a CS member?: Dec 27 2010

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1699 Post total!

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Every single day
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: I spend at the very least of 160 minutes on an average day. I am still in school, so it might be a little harder, but I usually find time! I usually go on CS Sun-Sat, sometimes not on week days due to homework(I'm in all Pre-AP, so it takes a little longer ^.^).

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.: Honestly, I have been a mod for quite a few sites.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yes, but, believe me, they weren't good xD.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: YES. I visit the Oekaki forums at least seventeen times a day! I love encouraging people, and I like to see their best. I like just looking at other people's art! Most people on CS are way better artists then me, so honestly, I tryto pick up techneciks(Sorry I'm not the best at spelling :p ))

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an Oekiak moderator for CS?: First off, it looks like a really fun job! I like to draw, even though I'm not he best at it ^_^" . I really really hope I can get this job eventually, but the least I can do is hope, I aslo love helping people <3!

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?: Um... Honestly, I am not the best drawer :p. I think I am good at problem solving, and I am on I am very active. I am very very quick at replying, and I think I'm good at being calm, even under a heated argument.

How many posts have you made in the forum): 749
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? I usually visit everyday, unless I haven't time that day. Its been a bit busy with school these past two weeks though.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Before my CS life started slowing down, I would spend all day on CS. The time honestly varies by the amount of things I have to do here. Before all my Role-play's died, I would spend lots of time online. Then I spent almost every spare moment on the Oekaki, just, wasting my life away in viewing the board. In fact, its become habitual of me to automatically go to the Oekaki before anything else. So yeah. You probably didn't need to know that (or did you?) but I guess its worth my two cents.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? I have moderated "chatrooms" or "clubs" on another site a LOT. But considering it was FooPets.com and you cannot get into the site without a membership, I'm afraid that will not be of much service to you. So I will not create excuses and I'll just go with the answer "No." But if you count chatrooms and FooPets, then I guess its a "Yes."
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Absolutely. I love it. Its where I learned to draw digitally. Or, sort of learned, since I still need work.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Unless something more serious requires my attention, yes. I used to, and still do, spend quite a bit of spare time on the Oekaki board.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I just want to contribute to this wonderful site as much as possible. Other than paying money, I can't think of any other better way of being useful or helpful to you than keeping the site clean and safe for other members. ChickenSmoothie is by far one of the best, yet simplest, sites I've encountered- ever. I want it to stay a clean, modest site, that is friendly to all ages- and that knows there's more to a business than money.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position? I don't really know what to say here, because I don't want to brag about myself- and really don't know WHAT I would brag about. So I'm just going to say this: the only skill that I can bring is my knowledge of right or wrong and passion for a safe, positive online community. I think I could bring goodhearted correction when needed, and I don't think I am a cruel and harsh taskmaster. Or at least I don't think I am. More than anything with a moderator job, I think it's important to not show favouritism among the people. And I wish to stay humble as well, so I'm going to end this application on a good note: CS Rocks.

Sorry if my application is a bit rash, or long, or silly. I don't really know if I have what you are looking for in a moderator, but I would be glad to answer any questions. I refrained from inserting emoticons, for the readers sake; I have also remember from other mod applications that smilies are not welcomed. c: So. I don't really know if I'm what you're looking for, or if you've even found a mod that fits your description best yet, but I decided my two cents might be appreciated and that I would do anything to better serve my CS online community. :3

Postby .:Wolf:. » Sun Sep 04, 2011 11:18 am

Good Morning Tess,

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)
Friday, November 2010
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)
77 I am sorry it is too short I spend most of my time making sure there are no bad Oekaki pictures. I had a CS account with 9000 and something but I think it was hacked. So I made this one. Will that be ok to post if not I could remove it.
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
all of them
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
3 to 4 hours :D
5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
Nope but I am still looking for bad forums
6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes I have. I made a few. Not that much. I have to admit, my art is not so great.
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes. All the time. I make sure there are no bad oekaki pictures. I make sure they stay off the web.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Umm... tough one. Well I really want to help children to not see any bad pictures. I also want to help any other Oekaki Moderator keep track of each picture. It is very important to make sure there are no bad pictures.
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I am not the kind of person that brags. I am just going to admit I am very good at making sure nobody gets offended. I also am very good at making all the sad people feel really great. Another thing is that I am good at knowing what is wrong or bad. I really love to make sure things go right.

Here are three important reasons I want to apply for this job:::::

#1) I want to be able to make sure nobody gets offended, sees something innapropriate, or steals any art.

REASONS: If we just leave them out there doing that: they will keep doing this. It will not be acceptable and should never happen. If this does happen I would make sure to tell you (since i am not yet the moderator or am not gonna be) or any other members that could lock that post. I want to make sure the pictures are GOOD FOR A CHILD TO SEE . Hopefully we can make a change here. Even though not many people have noticed. Some Oekaki is very INNAPROPIATE. And those pictures should not even be drawn! If it gets in the internet, it might not come out.

#2) I want to make sure the pictures show respect and no bad things (blood, guns, knives, ect.)

REASONS: With one click of a button... all those pictures will be watched by millions of children. Most will get used to watching them, but they should not. I would try to make sure not even 2 people see it. Because if I don't, this will be passed on and on and on. I also would not approve that people do pictures such as a bleeding animal. A man holding a gun. Sexual innapropiate things. Guns, killing somebody. This will not be acceptable.

#3) I want to make sure no nutity is showed

REASONS: Nudity is a bad example for children. Nudity should not be posted in Google images or any other place you could get pictures out of. Well children should not be able to see this. The bad pictures will be immediately closed. Not even a teenager should be seeing this. Nobody should. It is nasty, against the rules (which I read :) ) and it is not abailavle here!

Thank you Tess, for being able to read this, hope you understood the reasons why

Thnk you for your time, Tess!
