My friend and I joined accounts a few months ago, and we're both applying for this position (: So that if we both get chosen, we can be oekaki mods on this shared account. Her application is on Page 9 (:
1. What date did you register as a CS member?:
This account says November 2010, but due to the fact that this is a new account, that's not really accurate :P I really joined on around the 14th August, 2009, if memory serves me right (:
2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
1250 (That's on this account. On my old account, it'd be somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 I'd say).
3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Every day, almost without fail (of course, there will always be rare exceptions - if I'm on holidays (I'll usually have internet access there anyway) or at camp with no internet access etc.).
4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Two hours minimum, but usually a lot more. On weekdays, when I have school, it'd be around 4, but at weekends, it would be more like 6-10 (:
5. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I have never moderated on any other forums, however I am a moderator on the 'Doctor Who Fan Club' here on Chicken Smoothie (:
6. Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Unfortunately, oekaki does not work on my laptop or my iPad, which are the things I usually go on CS on. However, it does work on my computer (which I don't often have access to - my brother is usually using it), so I would use it occasionally. However, I rarely publish work, because I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I will only post something if I think it's absolutely fantastic :L Also, I'm not the most skilled on the computer. I prefer a pencil personally, although with practice I think I could get the hang of it (:
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
I do! I love seeing all the artistic talent here. It's fantastic to see people's artistic skills develop, from basic drawings in the 'Beginner's Oekaki' board, to beautiful, detailed drawings in 'Intermediate Oekaki'. I have a real interest in art, I always have, and I love to spend time just looking and appreciating beautiful art. I particuarly love art of animals and scenery (which is good, because that's what most of the art on CS seems to be :L), but I love art of all kinds.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
As I said in the previous question, I love art. I want to make sure that Oekaki is enjoyable for everyone. Chicken Smoothie is a big part of my life, and it has been since I first joined two years ago. I am well aware of both the Oekaki and the Art rules here, and feel that I would be able to identify cases of art theft, rule breaking, and also what topic (intermediate or beginner etc.) a piece of art should be in, and would be able to move it where appropriate (: Oekaki, and Chicken Smoothie in general, is a friendly, fun and safe place for everyone, and I want to ensure it stays that way!
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
I do know quite a lot about art - I've visited lots of galleries, and have done research on some famous artists for school projects etc., and I hope to do art for GCSE (major exams in the UK (: ). I speak basic French and Spanish - enough to communicate anyway!
I am patient and understanding, although I can be firm when necessary. I never take sides in an arguement, no matter what my personal opinion is, and I often sort out arguements between my friends. I would be able to take being yelled at, and in the unlikely event that such a thing would happen, I'd be able to keep my temper and be reasonable.
Thanks for reading, all I can do now is wait and hope I guess! (: Good luck to everyone!
