Butler looked down at her, noting how in her movements, there was obvious clues she was well trained. "Convention? I was searching for someone, there was a loud noise, and now i'm here." He waited for any aggressive movements, shifting slightly again to better defend Artemis if needed.

"Wow, you're really into your part!" exclaimed Seven, truly fascinated. She wasn't sure who this man was acting as, but she was beginning to wonder if these people didn't actually think that they were these characters. Was there a jailbreak at the mental institution, or what? Then, mentally shrugging it off, she asked the man, the boy, and the fuzzy-footed person, "Can I take your pictures, too? I didn't expect to see a convention here today. Normally they're in the newspapers."

Butler immediately stepped in front of Artemis. He hadn't ruled out that this woman was an enemy spy, and taking their pictures for a nonexistent convention was very suspicious.

"Oh, come on, now!" laughed Seven, flicking the off button so that her camera wouldn't run out of battery. She put it back into her pocket and said, "Don't be shy! It's just a picture. I only want one because your costumes are really well-made. Especially yours," she added, glancing at the short, fuzzy man. "It must have taken forever to get all that hair on your feet. What are you supposed to be, some kind of elf? Maybe a hobbit or something?"

Artemis shook his head ruefully. "No Butler, I know no one here. But in the time you were not by my side, I was threatened by a very Holly Short-like girl with a pistol. Perhaps we are in an alternate universe..." He paused, peering around Butler. "Madam, I would have you know that we are not at any sort of convention, nor are you really taking our pictures merely because you think we are dressed up. I would also appreciate if you acted more rational. Clearly we have been transported from our respective worlds to another, presumably by that man who was reading from the thick book. And no, you may not take our pictures." he snapped.

Butler spoke clearly. "This is not a convention. We were brought here against our will, and I can assure you I and my protectee are not in cotsume." He narrowed his eyes at the girl. He might recognize her face, but he didn't. Assuming his hunch was right, he said, "I'm sure you're no stranger to dangers. Therefore, I hasve not ruled out that you are an enemy. You should understand, agent."

(Arrgh. Should we pretend he spoke before Arty? xD I really don't know what to do now.)

Deryn blinked in surprise. Apparently the device in her hands was a camera, and now she was going around taking pictures of everyone else. Deryn had never before seen so many unusual people in one place before- for example, the small man with kind eyes and... her eyes popped open as she looked down. His feet were covered in hair. Deryn shrugged off the unpleasant thought and followed the tall woman as she continued asking people for pictures. One boy in particular, who looked about Deryn's age but was a lot smaller than her, began prattling on about alternate worlds and some man with a book. "What on earth are you talking about?" she spoke up, leaning out from behind the tall woman. "Convention? Different worlds?" None of this made sense. Not the strange people or the tiny camera, not the pompous boy who seemed to be wise beyond his years. Or possibly just full of clart. Deryn wasn't sure which.

Butler looked down at the girl who was looking aroud him at Artemis. He shifted slightly. More and more people comign made it harder to find a good position to fend off attackers.

"Look here, kid," said Agent Seven, taking a casual step forwards and glancing out of the corners of her eyes to make sure that nobody was watching her. She kept her hands out of her pockets so that the big man- he must be a bodyguard- could plainly tell that she wasn't reaching for a gun. When she spoke again, it was softly, in a tone that would make it obscenely difficult to eavesdrop. Her lips hardly moved as she talked. "I don't know who you are, or why I'm here, but I do know that you and I are not so very different. I won't make inquiries about where you're from and who you are until I'm sure of where I am and what I'm doing here, and I hope I can expect you to do the same." She stepped back and, for the sake of appearances, winked at him jovially. "Just think about it," she said, with a broad smile. Then she put her hands into the pocket of her hoodie and walked away, vanishing into the crowd with the ease of long practice.

Butler tracked the girl out of the corner of his eye until he was satisfied Artemis wasn't within range. Ironic, because Artemis could barely be seen behind Butler's bulk.

Petra boldly strode up to Butler.
