Re: Oekaki Moderator - job applications now open!

What date did you register as a CS member?: Oct. 23, 2008
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 3312
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7 days a week unless something comes up.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? I generally try to spend 3 hours if not more.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them No, I'm sorry, I have not. But I would like to get some experience so that if any other website ever asks me this question, I can say "Yes!" confidently.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, although I generally use other programs for big projects and tasks. I like to use Oekaki more for trying different settings before using them on different programs and projects.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? All the time! There are so many amazing artists on Chicken Smoothie and so many other artists who just need a little help to start them on the path of being an amazing artist. I like to try and encourage people who aren't confident in they're art to be confident in their art.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I've always wanted to help CS, since I first started. I think everything the staff of Chicken Smoothie does is important and essential to the daily life of a CS user. I would really like to bring my appreciation and knowledge of art to the CS team and hope to improve what is already an amazing place for artists and art appreciators. I would also love to connect and help the fellow artists and users of CS by keeping it safe and fun for everyone. I really love the Oekaki boards and I understand that art can sometimes be inappropriate for most, if not all, users of CS. I would like to move the oekakis that are in the wrong category to the correct one and keep everything nice and organized so everyone can view it in a nice manor.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) Well, I'm fluent in English and semi fluent in Spanish. I hope to bring my skills of art appreciation to the position along with my relaxed personality and excellent people skills. I am also very responsible and would never leak any information that is not supposed to released. I hope I can follow in Leurai's footsteps and be just as great as them.

Good luck to everyone and I hope whoever gets this position is grateful c:

Many of my friends fight a lot and I have two little sisters who fight constantly and I often step in and get them both to agree to something that works for them both so I think I do have experience with peer meditation. What date did you register as a CS member?:
October of 2009

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
9861

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
Every day, unless something happens of course.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Well School has started, so I'm on about 6 hours a day, unless I have band stuff to do or something like that. On weekends I'm usually on all the time.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I've moderated two roleplaying forums, but they're dead now and I really had nothing to fix. If you still want them, here they are: http://songwolfrp.proboards.com/index.cgi ; http://jarofstars.freeforums.org/portal.php

I'm also a Global Moderator for the forum http://gorenrp.freeforums.org/portal.php

That's about it, I believe.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes, I use it in most of my free time. ^^

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes. I look through most of the oekaki boards but I don't look through Adoptables or Sketches and Experiments often.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Ever since I joined CS I wanted to contribute to such a large community. And everytime I see these job applications, I'm always quick to get to them. I also want to help rid the oekaki boards of any inappropriate drawings I've seen in the past. And art theft. Art theft bugs me to death. And to finally help against it would mean the world to me. But all in all, I just want to contribute to chickensmoothie in anyway I can, and in the Oekaki boards, practically my favorites place, I'd do my best. ^^

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position:
Well, I'm very skilled with the oekaki boards. I know how to keep my temper down and 'keep my cool' if I were to ever be raged at. I've been in fights in the past, both online and in real life and I usually always managed to keep my temper down.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? I spend a lot of time on CS, at least more than two hours. If I had to guess It would be five or more.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, I love oekaki!
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? a lot, I have my favorite artists :)
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I want to be an oekaki moderator because I love oekaki and having responsibility. I think it would be a good experience for me to get to work with others in oekaki. I love art (As I draw myself) and especially love oekaki as I find it easy to use. I browse the oekaki forums often, probably the most popular forums I visit on CS.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I am generally a very nice, calm, and professional person. I show respect to all people and am a rule follower. At the time of posting I have made 8655 posts.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?

Seven days a week unless I have something going on. I love CS and I get online as much as possible
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?

I can spend anywhere from half an hour to around four hours. It's usually closer to four hours. I am not online from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon (American eastern time) due to school.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them

Does it count if I own it? If so, here.
I'm a mini-mod on one of my favorite rp's.
I'm and artist/mod here.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?

To draw or color? I have used it to draw. I suck at drawing anything but backgrounds though. I color in things all the time though!
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?

Yeah all the time. Whenever I get bored, I go to all of the oekaki boards just to look around.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?

Wow, so many reasons. I've always wanted to work for CS. I love oekaki and I have helped people many times with it. I love art and any job to do with it would be amazing. Being part of the CS team would be a dream come true.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?

I rarely ever loose my cool. I am online as much as I can be and I love CS. I am very nice most of the time but I'm stern when I need to be.
inactive, but I still check my messages occasionally

What date did you register as a CS member?: Oct 02, 2008

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 12188

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Seven days a week.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I'm online a lot and usually always have a tab with CS open if I'm on the laptop. Around 5- 7 hours during weekdays and up to 10 or even longer on the weekend.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
Due to the fact that I am not really active on a lot of other well known or active sites, nope. The only sites I used to help on aren't up anymore.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes, several times. I used to have more images in my gallery, but I'm one of those artists that don't like looking at their old art, so I asked a mod to delete my oldest stuff. xD My more recent works (kinda) are still up though.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
The Oekaki board is one of the boards I'm usually around the most, be it just lurking and looking at the stuff in there or posting my own art.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I really enjoy browsing through all the art on here a lot and I know that I'd have the motivation to keep one of my favourite parts of the forum clean and organised and remove inappropiate content on sight, and it's no problem for me to tell if something is in the wrong place and needs to be moved or taken down.
Even though I haven't had the muse to draw lately, looking at the creations of other people still makes me happy and doesn't get boring for me even after a long time. Despite not posting as much as I used to anymore, I spend a lot of time with just reading the forums nowadays.
Angry or mad people have never been a problem for me to deal with, I would never pick fights with them or respond in a rude manner. I might seem a bit grumpy sometimes, but that is just because I am a kind of serious person that rather comes straight to the point instead of talking around the matter for hours. xD
All in all I'm really interested in this position to help this site by doing something I like to do, and I am fairly good at deciding whether something is copied/ stolen and searching for the original image within a short time, which is important for the job I think.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position:
German is my mother tongue and should anyone have any questions regarding the Oekaki in german, I would be able to answer them in their own language.

1. What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply) June 26, 2010
2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply) 1,335
3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every day.
4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? It depends. Sometimes I may spend three hours, while other times I will spend 6+ hours.
5. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them I have moderated on Lav's Adoptions before to make sure people were following the rules.
6. Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes! Although I prefer PSE, I enjoy ChibiPaint every so often. I especially enjoy coloring in linearts and making new characters with those.
7. Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I often browse the all over the oekaki, from Intermediate to Colored In. I truly enjoy looking at all of those creative designs. Though sometimes, I catch an art theft here and there, which makes me happy I have helped make CS a better art community.
8. Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? First of all, my goal is to try to be a friend to the artists of CS. Instead of five users yakking at a newbie to move their art to Beginner's, why not just move it silently back to where it belongs? I imagine it doesn't feel nice to have many different people yelling at you because it "doesn't belong there."
Also, I have noticed that sometimes it takes a long time to get a drawing moved and/or locked. Coinciding with the above statement, I want to have minimum spam on drawings that have had an erased signature, are in the wrong places, or have been accused of accidental art theft. Sometimes, ten people say the same thing and cause a lot of confusion and drama. If the topics are dealt with quickly, the spam would be avoided.
9. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?)I am pretty patient with most cases, and I am persistent to rid CS of liars, theives, and cheaters. I will usually take action as soon as I get a request, and I will take my job very seriously.
I am also learning French, but I am limited, as I know extremely basic French.

What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply) October 21, 2010

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply) 412

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Oh God, 5 at the least...

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them Here I didn't post on it, but I watched it just to make sure it ran smoothly

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes, I love browsing the oekaki to see the amazing art pieces, look for art theft, and to see if any art is in the wrong spot.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? Wow, so many reasons, well for the biggest thing is to prevent art theft. I feel that great artists should be credited for their art, not someone who is too lazy to draw and just wants to look good or get featured. To get rid of one of my site pet peeves. Colored ins in the beginners or intermediate! When I look at those I feel as if I am the only one who notices "based on" under the picture while all the people commenting will say "Oh I wish I could draw like that!" and the person who colored it in will just say "Thanks" and not even credit the real artist >:(. Also to stop disputes on a picture. A lot of times when I am browsing, I click on a picture, let's say it's about running with scissors. It will be a really good picture but the first comment will say," You should not endorse running with scissors because millions of people die each year from that." Then more and more and more people come and argue and argue and argue. I read the topic and cannot believe that these people are arguing and nobody has report the topic or a mod hasn't seen it. (I do realize the mods cannot do everything, I think people do report these types of topics because they are so drawn into the argument.) These disputes last for 2 to 3 pages and don't stop. I feel that no one is respecting the artist who deserves respect.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) Well I do have one CS friend in real life who never reads if she is coloring in a competition picture or a colored in picture. She also has gotten into several arguments on topics, and posted Colored Ins in beginners. I am always reading her posts just to make sure she hasn't gotten into any trouble. I report her posts and try to help her with oekaki since she is a good artist, she just needs to learn some more about the site :) Also, I don't know if this will help, but I am taking French. I know how to carry on a basic conversation and a couple of random words lol xD

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):According to "My posts," 1000, but according to the left side of my screen? 89
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Three to five, depending on my work schedule. Again, that can increase.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? No
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? YES!! I love it
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Lots. I especially like looking at how people have used editable Oekaki.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I enjoy the Oekaki boards and would love an excuse to spend more time there. I would do a commendable job; I'm one of those people that has trouble not mini modding X) It's not that

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply) 2189

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every day :)

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Around 4-5 hours, but on a Thursday it may be around 3 hours due to afternoon activities.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them. No, but I would love to start. :)

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes. I have used the oekaki boards numerous times to draw. :)

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I do like to browse the forums, I love to see everyone's art and their drawings. I usually visit all of the oekaki forums daily.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?

I feel that art theft is a huge problem in oekaki, and I see it all the time. I would like to be an oekaki moderator so I would do my best to rid the CS world of art theft. I also see newbies on CS that I could help with oekaki, and I would instruct them on how to draw, and how to make adoptables, etc. I would also check the competitions and check for rule breakers, make sure each competition has a backgroud, etc.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?)
My skills for Oekaki would be a sharp eye for rule breakers and spammers, and also a helper for Oekaki newbies. Newbies are my main priority, as I want to make sure they get a good experience off of oekaki. :)
