What date did you register as a CS member?:
June 01, 2010

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
1594

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I visit multiple times a day, every day unless I am away for a solid reason.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
This depends on what I need to do on any given day. If there are no PMs, forum messages, or people to talk to, I might only spend 15mins-one hour. If there's /much/ to be done or something interesting to look at, I spend a shameful amount of time lurking around. I check in randomly throughout the day, and then have a good, solid 8-10 hours online during prime CS hours that I would be able to spend.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.
My moderating experience mostly comes from my roleplay background. I was a past moderator/layout designer for Whazzit Weyr-d while it was on Avidgamers and Acornrack (it has since moved to Invisionfree). Currently, I am an Area Admin (as well as one of the leaders) of a successful, friendly roleplay area on PernWorld MUSH, a MU*-based RP site.
I have not been a moderator for an art-based site/forum, but have been a moderator/mini-mod for a few threads on ChickenSmoothie itself, not counting my own: Ahzenai, Bel Daemon, Aza Daemon.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
I have used it a /lot/ in the past, and still do, though much less frequently. I find it is a wondrous medium for Headshots or reference sheets, especially because the watercolor tool allows one to blend easily. The only reason I've been utilizing Photoshop more lately is because oekakis cannot have clear .png backgrounds. :)

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes! It's a frequent source of inspiration, especially because it allows one to visibly watch other artists progress. I often stumble across people that might have been 'okay' when they first started drawing, and suddenly they're /magical/ with just some time and practice. That really drives me to create on those tough days where inspiration is hard to find.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Honestly, I have off-site, real-life experience with all the things I think you are looking for. As a graduated Art Education major, I have not only had to critique my own work, but also the art of others. It is a craft in and of itself to respond to someone else's art, to give them feedback on why something is or isn't good or appropriate while still being tactful, unbiased, and upbeat. As an educator in general, a certain level of skill with mediation between two parties is necessary, and I feel I would be able to settle conflicts between others (and disputes between myself and another) with a calm, collected head. Schooling has also helped me develop a keen eye for what is appropriate, both in terms of content and language - in a public school, you have to be extra safe!

As an artist, both on CS and off, I have had to keep a sharp eye out for art that is abused or thefted - I know what it is to have something stolen from me, and desire to protect others from the same thing. However, people do make mistakes and mis-credit references, so I know there is a time and place to be stern yet soothing while still bringing justice to the situation.

Lastly, as an artist of CS, I know its rules and regulations in regards to art and its proper use. I've read and re-read the full art rules posted in big red letters over all of the oekaki forums, and feel I would be willing and able to enforce them to the very best of my ability, regardless as to whether I'm only moving a drawing from one board to the other, or handling a difficult situation of some sort.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?

As I said in the paragraph above, I have skills with mediation between two or more individuals, moderation in general, and with judging art in all its forms. I'm tactful enough to to reprimand someone without making them want to quit CS entirely, friendly enough to be likable, and stern enough to get a point across when I want to make it. I'm often online, always accessible, and I don't mind at all when people send me PMs or other messages in order to ask me questions or send me comments. Art is my passion - I love it deeply and dearly and feel that I could bring some of that passion not only to the moderating team, but to CS at large. Who else is better for a task than someone that loves what they do?

Thank you very much for your consideration!

What date did you register as a CS member?:
Monday, September Fourteenth, 2009 {9:21 a.m}
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying)?:
839
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Every single day {unless internet is not available}. :3
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Weekdays: I'll go on in the morning before school for about ten minutes and then after school I'll be on for two to five hours, depending on how much homework I might have or if I need to go somewhere {doctor's appointment, etc.}
Weekends: That can easily be from two hours to eight or nine. I'm pretty lazy so I'll just stay on my computer all day, drifting from site to site.
Have you moderated on any other forums before?
I don't think so. ^_^
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Usually I colour in linearts. I don't have a steady hand for my mousepad, but if I had a template I'd probably be considerably better. I have drawn a couple things on the Sketches & Experiments board though.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I love looking at the art people have drawn, so it varies from 30 minutes to an hour and a half.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Simple. I like helping people. It's one of the things I do best. I'm known to be calm in situations concerning fights and misunderstandings, and it's a very rare occurrence for me to lose my cool when dealing with other members. I don't like seeing people blow their top at other users, so why would I do that to them? I've been a peace maker in the real world and on other sites before, so I'm pretty used to any sorts of problems like that and I know what to do when faced with them. I'm calm and collected, and I want to stop fights before they get bigger. C:
I also have a feeling that is I became an oekaki moderator, I'd want to practise drawing on the computer some more. I've really only ever tried to draw on paper which I'm good at, and I've wanted to practise oekaki drawing for a while now.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
I've helped settle fights online before, so I'd say I'm pretty experienced there.

Good luck to whoever gets the job. :]

i am a wishlist bomber! i have gifted 53 pets && i've gotten 21 pets.

I'm the one with the ghosts in my bed, || but they only come alive at night.
Stuck in my sheets an accustomed coffin,
I swear that I'll be fine, I'll be fine in the daylight. If I change and I start to fade, And all the green in my eyes desaturate,
it's my head
not my heart that's strayed.
I'm sorry I keep pushing you away.

Hmm, applications again? I'll give it a go.

What date did you register as a CS member?:
November 15, 2008.
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
6289
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Every day, normally.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Today I'm probably spending 12 hours, but that's only because I'm at the library. I'm able to spend that much time here every day until school starts which is soon. When school starts, I am able to be on a lot less, maybe 4 hours or so.
Have you moderated on any other forums before?
No. For the ones I have moderated, they were not very big sites and are not worth mentioning.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes. It's so much simpler than GIMP so that's why I love it, as it still has many features that my normal art programs carry, just toned down so I can have relaxed drawing time.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, I have. The community is very unique just by having Oekaki to communicate and share our art, and I like to embrace that.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I have been on CS for a long long time. I've seen CS evolve, and I know quite a lot about CS's history. It'd be so much fun to be apart of that history. CS is definitely my favorite website of all time, and to be a major part of it would be wonderful and I also think practical.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position
I am a level-headed person, and I don't lose my temper with people. I feel I'm a generally like-able person on the forums, and I can joke around with friends or I can be serious when needed (as in, not "OMG SO BEAUTIFUL! FIRST!"). This seems to be a key element needed for this job and I think I can be useful for that reason.
I also think my spelling is adequate, rather than not good at all. I understand this would be helpful for new users who need talkings-to.
I can also communicate with chat-speakers well, but if grammar is horribly butchered like for people who hardly speak English I'm unable to help. Just to clarify though, I'm normally able to understand. :)

Thank you again for the opportunity, Tess! <3
And good luck to others who I'm sure have a better chance than me.

1.What date did you register as a CS member?:

2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
350
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
Everyday c:
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?:
Normally I am on all day roaming the Oekaki forums.
5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
Well no, But I have owned two sites that I have deleted.
6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
Yes, but I can't really draw ;o; I am taking classes and getting a tablet this week. I have always tried, I can draw little things but nothing big like animals.
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Yes. It amuses me reading and looking at art. I am always in the oekaki forums searching for linearts, telling people if the post is in the wrong forum or not. ect.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I have always dreamed on being part of the CS staff and I am ALWAYS in okekai. It seems like a task I can handle, I can easily ignore how rude people are to me and calmly explain what they are doing. I always try to keep people from fighting if needed and always tell them if its in the wrong forum or not. I believe I could do this job if I needed to and I would work my hardest to do great. I have been scanning waiting for the day I could put in an application and finally the day has come. I will give all my time to this job if I get it <3
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required):
Well, I love helping, always in the forums, I have been an admin for my websites and I am working my way to be a mod at the site http://www.thesiteoffreedom.webs.com I can easily handle stress and rudeness. I am always one to point out the right from wrong and if the picture was copied or in the wrong forum and I try to keep things peaceful when arguements break which is normally not often for me. o3o

Good luck to all who have entered<3

What date did you register as a CS member?: October 18th, 2008
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 3258
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: I'm on pretty much everyday unless I have all day plans.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-6 hours, depending on whether I'm planning to check in on threads, or to do something like oekaki, or have a long discussion.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
http://milkshakemonster.myadopts.com/adopt.php
I was a mod/artist.
http://cityofowls.myadopts.com/adopt.php
I was an artist/admin (Mostly to upload pets)
I've also been a mod on some sites that ended up getting shut down, but most of them were quite small.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? All the time. Just check out my Gallery, it's filled with hundreds of pieces.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes, actually, I do. It's one of my favourite places to stalk. Intermediate is my favourite board to look at.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Well, I love CS. It's my absolute favourite website on the entire internet. It's that one site I can't get sick or bored of, I feel like it's a part of my family. This is why I want to do everything in my power to help it. Now, why would I want to be an Oekaki Moderator? Oekaki is my favourite board on CS, I've learned so much from it. It means so much to me, that every time I see someone complain about stolen art/tracing my heart breaks, but, almost every time a friendly Oekaki mod comes to the rescue, which leaves me in awe. I have wished to join these mighty people since they have been around. It would combine my favourite things into one job: CS, Art, and helping. To be honest, even though I apply for almost all jobs out of love and the need to help, I think this would be the one best suited for me and the one I've wanted most.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I know small amounts of french and I usually can understand most sentences. I've also had experience being a member of school counsel (I was School Treasurer), which may come in handy. I know a bit about art and popular artists on CS, so I'm not too bad at spotting theft.
Thanks for your time.

3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every single day. ((Unless something happens and I cannot access the internet. Though that is rare.))
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? All my free time. Usually 2-8 hours during the school year and 10-12 during the summer.

7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes. I enjoy seeing everybody's art.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? Well..... First: I enjoy looking through the oekaki boards and topics. Second: I would enjoy it. I am very good at catching small details which could help.
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I am very good at finding small details, I'm good with people. I do not stop until the job is done. I do have quite a bit of experiance with ending fights without causing harm (very politely.) and I am also good at dealing with rude people. ((I've been sent hate messages many times about trades. I turned most of them into my friends.)) I am very playful and love making jokes and such but, as a few people have learned, I can be very serious when it comes to what is needed to be done and such.

Thank you for reading this and have a great day :)

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) i think i manage bad situations calmly, and i never think i will lose control of myself. i love to help others solve their problems too ^-^

i have been here for aproximately six months by now, so i (most probably :( ) won't get chosen for the job  oh well, i hope you read this :c

APPLICATON

1.What date did you register as a CS member?:
I joined on December 04, 2009.
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
I have made 14396 posts. :3
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I'm on CS every single day, unless I'm on vacation/the internet is off/my compter is broken, etc.
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Hmm, lets see. On weekdays I can get on CS for 7 hours a day, and all day long on weekends.
5.Have you moderated on any other forums before?:
Nope, on none. I did get a little experience on Art Shops/RP's, and things like that.
6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes, alot of times. The Oekaki is one of my main drawings programs.
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, I do that often. I love going in the Intermediate Oekaki Board, the art there is simply amazing.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I love scrolling through the Oekaki, browsing the beautiful art. It does get a little annyoing if drawings are put in the wrong boards, and even more annoying if fights start over it. I would love to be a Moderator, because I would do anything to help CS, and I want to help the other Mods put the Oekaki in order. Maybe I can, if I work hard enough, make it alot less work for the other Oekaki Moderators. There are a lot of reasons why I want to be a Moderator, but lets keep it short. I want to serve CS, help other members, and help put misplaced things in order. x3
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?:
Not much at the moment...I can help others who don't know how to use the Oekaki by making Screen Shot Tutorials for them. If I really need to, I can easily handle rage and calm users down.

Thank you for this wonderful opertunaty, Tess! :D

What date did you register as a CS member?: November 7th, 2009

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 17034.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: All seven days of the week, unless something out of the ordinary comes up.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: I don't really count, but I spend most of my time on CS. It really depends on if I have any plans. When school starts I'll probably be on around 7 hours, so since school hasn't started I'm usually on more than 7 hours.

Have you moderated on any other forums before?: If so, please link to them: I have not, which is why being a moderator on CS will be a new experience for me. I have been a mini-mod on some threads on CS though.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yes I have, plenty of times. My gallery has 30 pages.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yup, I love to see what my fellow CSians have drawn up and see if they're any suspicious looking drawings. c: I'm always willing to click the like button.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: CS is the main site I go on. It's been my dream for a long time to be a moderator and this is the perfect chance. I like helping others, it makes me feel good to know I've just been useful to someone. It makes me even happier to do something helpful that includes something I adore, CS for instance. <3 Chicken Smoothie has always been my place to go to if I'm in need of excitement or some cheering up. Believe me, I used to be a n00b, but CS changed me into who I am today. If I were to become a mod, it would feel as if I'm returning all of the things CS has done for me, sort of like a 'thank you' message. I tend to see people posting Oekaki in the wrong forums and people telling them it is in the wrong spot, sometimes causing drama. I'd like to do a favor for them and put it in the right area to prevent a rage fest. I also want to help terminate art theft and bullying. Being an Oekaki Moderator will certainly take up some of my time, but that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: Hmm, I'm good at restraining myself, even if I'm furious inside. I don't explode with all caps and millions of exclamation marks. I have a pretty good memory of art I've seen and if I find something that looks similar to an art I've seen before I like to go and find it. I don't like to hurt others' feelings (that doesn't mean I'm a pushover, however), so I do my best to understand their emotions and sort whatever it is out calmly. I'm fast at typing and can send out replies rather quickly. I could care less if someone hated me or not. No use crying over it. It gets you nowhere. I've also been told I'm a fast learner. I'm not sure if that'll aid me or not, but it could help me get accustomed to moderating quicker. My family also doesn't celebrate most holidays. I may go off to a relative's house, but I won't be too busy. I don't take important vacations on holidays I don't celebrate such as Christmas. I have a very determined personality and I strive to do my best.

I understand my chances are slim, I have a lot of great competition, but I would definitively try my hardest to fulfill my job and do it properly if I were chosen. Thank you for this opportunity. Good luck all. c:
