What date did you register as a CS member?: Jan 24, 2011 4:36 pm
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1162
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7 days a week. I have graduated High School and am taking the year off from college so there is usually not an issues with not having time to get on (unless I'm sick or there's an emergency).
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? between 5-6 actively though it is usually up in the background all day. I check back many times during the day to read my posts, browse the forums (mostly adoptions, oekaki and the like) to see what going on.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? Chicago! (See member: Riley) I can also provide verification if requested. I have modded this RP for three years in all it's various stages and sites and have never been removed from the staff team for any reason. This job originally started out as a "police" like job where I mostly enforced rules. After abut 6 months of that work i was promoted to Global Moderator (at the time the site was "The Lovely Bones"). My job then entailed (and still does) coding, graphics, thread moderation as well as monitoring art and images being used by the players of the RP as we only allowed Stock images to represent the characters. Over the years I have had to enforce various rules such as politeness and art theft and have warned and unfortunately had to ask members to leave the site for too many infractions (a sentence no one wants to carry out). I have always prided myself on being fair but stern in my work and still enjoy it to this day. Even though I was always the one to hand out warnings and the like, I am still openly welcomed by our members and have many times received the "Staff of the Month" award (something I am very proud of and thank the members for immensely).
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Drawing on my own (no talent for that), no though I often color the editable in my free time. I often use it to test out new character designs, patterns and just plain color when I'm bored. I love seeing all the editable artwork that the various artists give to us to use and try to take best advantage of them.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I flip through there a couple times a day to see whats new. I don't often post (sometimes I do) as I don't have much drawing talents and couldn't provide much helpful feedback.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? To lend a helping hand on a site that I already spend so much time on. I love art and I feel that it would be a good outlet for wanting to help. I feel that with my past experiences, I would be able to handle this work quite efficiently. I also understand the importance of needing to be firm with the rules but I can also provide a positive experience in the end, hopefully with the rule breaker having learned a lesson. I want to be able to give back to a community that has supported me by doing the best that I can for them and making CS a nicer and smoother place to hang around in.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) I deal well with other people, often providing an open mind and ear to issues and problems (also see I deal well with angry people). I spent four years in JROTC (graduated Captain and Commander of BRAVO company) where I learned mediation skills as well as general people skills both in the true classroom and in practical experience dealing with the cadets under my command. It was my duty to enforce not only our creed of he corp but the school rules as well in the JROTC classroom and on our various trips as well as take action if these rules and guidelines were broken. I graduated the core with mediation awards from both the core and the Kiwanis club. As mentioned above I have large amounts of experience dealing with people online as well who have broken rules and dealing with those situations in various ways.
