I agree that aerial killing is cruel and unhumane. While it would be nice to just take out the old, sick, and weak wolves, it's not easy to tell without getting close enough for the wolves to bite your face off.
I also agree that the hide and bones of the wolf should at least be put to good use, and I'm sure somebody would eat the meat c:

I wanna join this. Wolves are OK animals, but they aren't really the best in my opinion.
Eventually I'll probably go hunting with my dad, and then ask him if we could ever go wolf hunting. Even though the colors wouldn't match the purple in my room, I think a wolf pelt would be cool to own.
I almost got a fox pelt(or rabbit.. I don't remember.), but I didn't have any money to buy it.

EDIT;; I'd try wolf meat.. wonder what it'd taste like?

The best thing I own is a crayfish claw, and a red eared slider shell. But yes, I would love a wolf or fox pelt, I could wear a wolf one for halloween :D

I'm glad I'm not getting attacked for this, I was expecting a lot of hate.

Exactly, I think that instead of A.Gs', they should send out groups of hunters to study and take out the wolves that are not essential to pack life (the old and weak). But that is still being too hopefull, it is well known that governments take th easy way out. (A.G's)

Rabbit pelts are pretty cheap (I think the most I've seen was around 12 bucks a pelt) Foxes are more expensive, since they are harder to get in some areas, generally are not the easiest to breed (you can breed and kill rabbits for skins so easily, they breed like weeds.), and the pelts are larger and higher quality than rabbits.

I got a peice of elk skin for around four bucks (okay sized peice too), and two deer tails in the garage that we (me n my dad), are preserving (fur on), so I can hang them on my wall.

Exactly, though it stinks that sometimes the best solution isn't possible.
I am going to try and make an banner for this, after I finish a good chunk of frames for my animation C:

I can't preserve anything for the life of me, I tried to preserve a large red eared slider shell once and it backfired on me, it fell apart once I dug it up.

@Blue Penquin

A little like chicken, no? :D

If you look it up it's not hard, salt and borox, then let it sit. the salt and borox soak up the moisture and keep it from rotting. eventually it's cured to a point wher it's fine to hang. (it will be stiff if you do it this way though.)

Unfortunetly, I don't know how to preserve turtle shells since you need to keep the object under alot of pressure... Look up different ways?
Turtle shells are made of kerotin, not bone, thats why it fell apart.

I'm assuming you mean the Northwest Territories? And by Native you mean Aboriginal/First Nations, and not simply natives of Canada? I can't say I've ever tried caribou... Or that the majority of the Natives ("Indians") in the southern provinces have much to do with caribou... We farm elk ("wapiti"! x3) quite a bit though, but that's different. I can't say I've ever eaten elk though, either.

Caribou are classed as least concern, same as the gray wolf. They're not in any more or less trouble. The main concern with animals like caribou is avoiding damage to the lichen supplies.

They go to the grocery store.

Do people seriously think we live in igluus and drive dogsleds up here to survive? I thought that was just a running joke in America o_O
We just do that stuff for fun. It's skookum.

I do support it as wolves are becoming a bit overpopulated, but i love wolves and think they are beutiful animals. As long as they don't go on a killing spree and take out entire packs it's perfectly fine.

Love em, but support hunting them. I'd love to go wolf hunting up in Canada.
