Jade sniffed her food. She poked is, then nibbled at it. "You eat this?" she shrugged and bit into it. "Mmh, it's not too bad," she thought. jade finished up her food and awaited her friend. This place was so dreary... so depressing. Everyone seemed less-then-happy, and it wasn't a good place to be. "HOw long have you lived here?" Jade asked. "Of course, if it's too personal, you don't have to answer. I'm just curious."

"I've been here..." Nightwind paused, figuring out exactly how long. "Eight years now." She said, calculating it out easily. She had been 11 when she came here. Things had been better then, people hadn't seen the mark on her arm. Now about once a week it glowed, on the nights she was most upset, and the most angry. Nights when lightning filled the air, and small children cowered in their beds. When parents stayed awake, hoping their house wouldn't be struck down by the lightning.
