Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. In an alternate reality, World War I is on the verge of breaking out, fought by the Darwinists (The "Allies" who fight with genetically engineered animals) and the Clankers (The "Axis" who fight with giant machines).
Species and/or powers: Deryn is a human, so other than her attractive, chick-magnet swagger, she has no superpowers.
Appearance:

Deryn is 5'10, thin, and lanky, with a flat chest and not many curves to speak of. She has short-cut blonde hair and blue eyes, and always wears boys' clothes.
Personality:
A perfect midshipman, Deryn has a certain swagger about her. She's bold and energetic and absolutely loves a good challenge, and her ability to keep a cool head in a crisis has saved her life many times. Quick and resourceful, and quite creative, Deryn is a good ally to have in a fight. Still, she's quite nice. She might seem crass, as she tends to say exactly what's on her mind, but underneath her tough exterior she's truly caring and kind. Any friends she makes, she tends to keep. And above all, she's one hundred percent loyal to her country.
History:
Deryn's father raised her with a love of flying from the time she was very little. She was fascinated by the fabricated airbeasts of the British Army, and even loved her father's hot-air balloons.
When she was young, her father was killed in a tragic ballooning accident. Deryn was raised by her mother and aunts, forced to wear dresses and behave like a lady. She hated every second of it. When she turned fifteen, she decided to join the army. However, girls weren't allowed to enlist. So, with the help of her brother Jaspert, Deryn became Dylan, a boy, and enlisted in the army. She ended up on the Leviathan, the largest airbeast in the British army, as a midshipman, and when the Leviathan crashed in Switzerland she met a runaway prince, Aleksander of Hohenberg, son of Archduke Ferdinand. His men helped the Leviathan get up and running, and in return, they gave him a ride to Constantinople, where he could escape to safety. But as Alek and Deryn became good friends, she realized she was in love with him.

(How about magic ITEMS (Lke wands or magic crowns ect.) don't, but if they HAVE it (Take Silvertounges) it will work. PS- I added another charecter. I was wondering if we could have an extra charecter come. Like, a background charecter also comes, but even in the RP hes just a background charecter. I need Camo!)

Human. Excellent swordsman. No powers.
Appearance:
Tybalt is tall, slim, with black hair, green eyes, and dark golden-brown skin. He has high cheekbones, a thin nose, and long legs. He has a permanent cowlick at the back of his head. His clothing consists of brown sandals, brown breeches, a white full-sleeved shirt and a scarlet tunic with gold embroidery. Around his neck on a silver chain he wears a "seeing stone"; a stone that has had a hole carved in it by a natural water source, like the ocean. When it's cold, he wears a long black cape and darker colors, like deep green and brown.
Personality:
Tybalt is temperamental, to say the least. He has a hairline temper, ready to draw his sword and duel on a dime. He can't stand people taking what he sees as his, and this applies especially to people. It's one of the reasons he fought Romeo- and he swears he would have won, if he hadn't been pulled out just as he had the advantage. He is passionate in everything that he does, and although he would never admit it, he loves to cook.
History:
Tybalt was born to Jonathon Capulet, the brother of Christopher (Lord) Capulet, and Miriam Capulet. When he was eleven, his father was killed on a hunting trip. After that, his mother became depressed and eventually hung herself when he was thirteen. After that, Tybalt went to live with his uncle (Lord Capulet) and cousin (Juliet Capulet). At nineteen, he is extremely close to and protective of his cousin, and so he does everything in his power to keep her safe and out of the clutches of those horrid Montagues. He proposed to Rosaline Finch at a party, but soon after discovered that his beloved cousin had fallen in love with Romeo Montague. Furious, he set out the next morning to find and kill his adversary, and met up with Benvolio Montague, Mercutio, and Romeo. Romeo tried to flee, and Mercutio took Tybalt's challenge instead. As they fought, Romeo jumped between them, and in trying to kill Romeo, Tybalt's rapier pierced Mercutio's heart instead. (Mercutio and Tybalt used to be the best of friends.) Even as Mercutio died, the furious and bereaved Tybalt challenged Romeo and attempted to kill him, but was yanked out of his world by an unseen force. He now wants more than anything to return and finish what he started.
Other:
I know that most people didn't see Tybalt as in the right, but he was my favorite character. This is my version of him.
If he had a theme song, it would be "The Cave", by Mumford & Sons. Especially the line that goes "But I have seen the same,
I know the shame in your defeat."
