Story:
Many sensations floated around the wolves that faithful day. You could smell emotions in the air, respect, despair, and simples sadness.
All of the WOI's were filling a large field, onlooking a huge glowing pond. Koi fish swam lazily under the surface, as if they had no idea of what was going on. But no wolf fell for their act, everyone understood exactly what was about to happen.
The grass swayed lazily through the soft breeze, and crickets chirped softly in the nearby woods. It would be a perfect night, if only Zoda wasn't about to leave.
As all wolves stood, waiting for that dreadful call, Zoda, followed by two large guards, emerged out of a group of reeds. The elderly wolf fought to stand tall, even with the sickness coursing through his veins. He met the eyes of all, even those who he despised. Stepping in front of the crowd, he too began to wait.
It seemed like eternity until the current alpha stepped out of the same group of reeds that Zoda had exited. All whispers from the wolves came to a halt as they watched the muscular wolf step up in front of them.
"Here, today, we stand to say our final goodbyes to Zoda. After tonight, he will be gone, in a world full of peace, where he can run and laugh again, where no pain will stop him. He will finally be at rest. Tonight, he enters Kawthar!"
Murmurs began to seep out of the lips of the huge groups of wolves. They watched as their leader, Tuyne, walked over to the frail body of the dying wolf. A few words were exchanged, and Zoda stepped up. He took a few moments to take one final look, and without a word, turned around and stepped towards the pond.
Carefully, Zoda stepped onto the first stepping stone, feeling his paw mend to the worn shape of all the other paws that has walked this path. Slowly, he takes another paw and sets it on the next stone. When it was time to move his third leg, a cry rang out from the crowd. It was Zodas only surviving pup, a young she-wolf named Lainaza.
She flinches, giving away her plan. The large guards stepped up and braced themselves. Knowing her time was running out, Lainaza darted forward, desperately trying to reach her father. She bolts steeply to the right, hoping to dodge the guards, only to run into Tuyne. The piercing eyes of the leader, and her mate, look into hers. She struggles only a second more, before clamping her jaw shut, and collapsing onto Tuynes shoulder.
Zoda, who had watched the whole scene, swung his head around before his daughter could see his tear filled eyes. He continued forward, until he had a paw firmly set on each of the last four stepping stones. He fought to relax every muscle in his body. Feeling raw power seep up his legs, he began to worry. Within a few seconds, he was paralyzed, stuck in the grip of the Kawthar.
All wolves watched anxiously, even the guards. Lainazas eyes opened with worry as the pond began to glow brighter and brighter until she had to look away. The ground vibrated, her ears thrummed, yet all she could worry about was her father. Hearing the steady chant of the wolves form around her, she joined in, letting her voice twist and sway along with the others.
The voices of the wolves molded into one, growing faster and stronger. They had to chant, for if they didn't, the ritual would end in disaster. The sudden;y, the pond dimmed, and all wolves grew quiet again. To their relief, they saw the form of Zoda glowing softly.
He was strong and young again, but not quite wolf. His physical body had disappeared, and now all that was left was the spirit of the former leader, standing proud. He took one last look back, making eye contact with his daughter for half a second. All though his physical body was gone, they seemed to be the same.
Sweeping his head back around, Zoda stared up into the gapping cave before him. Without fear, he stepped forward to meet all the other wolves of the past. This is where all the spirits lay, in a safe place full of love. And finally, he was here.
Ehh- Huge WIP. Got to fix grammer, spelling, and improve the story in general. Not to mention finish the art :3 This is only for theme one, I just felt like I had to explain the place a lot.
