Silver Moonlight was led out to the yard. She was tied to a pair of posts, standing between them, tense. The Girl came up to her, smiling, talking, caressing her muzzle. She relaxed. The Girl wouldn't let anything happen to her.
A heavyset man was heating something in the coals. Moonlight recognized him- he gave her new shoes when the old ones lost their shine. She watched him, totally at ease, as he raised a long metal poker from the coals. Moonlight had seen this thing being used on other horses. They always squealed. And later a mark would be left; CS. For Crystalline Stables, Moonlight's home. She tensed a little, but the Girl just smiled and stroked her again. She felt her eyelids drooping... drooping...
A sudden red-hot pain shot through her hind leg. She squealed and reared, the Girl scrambling away. The pain didn't go away, it stayed, an imprint on her now not-so-flawless hide. She bucked and kicked, and eventually strained forward. The leadrope tying her to the Post snapped and she galloped straight out of the gate and into the Beyond.
For hours she galloped, across the dry, dusty plain. She wasn't used to this- at Crystalline she always had a supply of water and companions to whicker to. She began to regret leaving, considered going back.
And then she saw him.
Should I continue? I've kinda got an idea of what happens next... *shrugs*

The world she had known had quickly crashed and burned. Destined to fall into the hands of the enemy. The den of the lion. Cowering in the corner, just an insignificant mass surrounded by a dozen hungry lions. And where was he? Her knight in shining armor? She was running out of time...
for when the clock struck ten, she was doomed to die in this den.
Oh! How could he abandon me in my hour of need!
He didnt care. Oh, he didnt love me. How could I be so foolish? She thought to herself. Then the thought popped into her head. It wasnt really an idea, more of a decimate fact that she was trying to ignore.
She was going to die and her life is flashing before her eyes.
She shivered as a lion brushed by her, licking it's chops, awaiting it's ready meal. She wouldn't cry, she knew better. Plus she was above crying, if someone could be above shedding tears before you die.

"oh where could she be? Dancing with the devil on this night. Could it be destiney?"
He spoke as if in a trance. Looking around the woods and praying with every ounce of himself that he would find her. But the horror kept coming back to him. Could she already be dead? Shaking his head he sighed and continued the search, but no clue was waiting for him. She might....he wasn't going to make it in time.

"why you look tasty. Ill only take a bite." a lion chided moving forward for the first of the fray. But the lion was stopped by another. "you cannot touch her till the alpha gets back." it growled. The lion snarled. "stupid alpha needs to hurry....I'm starving..." it said, yellow eyes locked on her.

She looked down. She was dead meat. But she still prayed.
"oh my knight, where could you be?" she thought. She didn't want to die. At least not this way. The main course......for a lion fray.....
