Forestpaw and Mosspaw headed for the highrock and sat down. Kinkfur and Stripeclaw yawned and watched from the elder's den. Flickerheart sat down with the apprentices.

Sandstar groomed her pelt. She walked up to Wolfclaw. "Are you taking out a patrol?" she asked.

Hawksky stalked a squirrel and pounced. He carried it by its fluffy tail back to his temporary "prey pile". He decided that his two voles, a mouse, a thrush, and the squirrel were probably enough, so he sat and waited for Waterpaw.

Nightsplash sat around camp.

Rainwhisper rubbed his cheek against Amberheart comfortingly. He didn't say anything, but his eyes comunicated his sympathy for her pain.

Amberheart turned her head to Rainwhisper. "Thank you." She wispered. She then turned to the other cats. "Let's get back to camp. The fox has not returned."

Wolfclaw walked over.

Waterpaw hung her head,and walked below the highrock,and strained her neck up to see Sandstar.

"It has been a sad past quarter moon (week)," Sandstar began. "But now we have something to celebrate. Forestpaw, Mosspaw, step forward please." She climbed down from the Highrock and waited for the apprentices.

Hawksky smiled and nodded his head. Nightsplash flicked his tail and smiled.

Forestpaw and Mosspaw stepped foward, delirious with happiness.

Sandstar looked at the two apprentices. She began. "I, leader of Dawnclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn." She looked at Mosspaw, then Forestpaw. "Mosspaw, Forestpaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to defend and protect your clan, even at the cost of your lives?"

Mosspaw replied solemly "Yes." Forestpaw replied, very seriously, and even though she was exited, she was very strong in her promise, replied ''Yes."

Sandstar nodded. "Then by the power of Starclan, I give you your warrior names. From this day forward, you will be known as Mosspelt and Forestlight. Starclan honors your courage and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full warrior to the clan."

"Mosspelt! Forestlight!" Hawksky called, standing on his hind legs. "Forestlight!" Nightsplash called. "Mosspelt!"

Flickerheart, Kinkfur, and Stripeclaw joined in enthusiasticaly. Forestlight and Mosspelt beamed with pride, but a little worried for their night of vigil.

Sandstar smiled at the new warriors and reminded them of their vigil they had to sit that night.

Hawksky leaned over. "That'll be you soon," he whispered in Waterpaw's ear.

Nightsplash walked over to the new warriors. "Congratulations!" he mewed, smiling.

Rainwhisper nodded and headed back to camp.
