Hawksky sat by the prey for awhile. He looked to the sky. It was already past sunhigh. Hawksky took the risk of leaving his prey, but he put some dead leaves over it first. He followed Waterpaw's scent for a long time before he found her. "Waterpaw?! What's wrong?" he exclaimed, rushing over and wrapping his tail around her.

"I-I climbed up to a squirrle's nest. T-there were three in there. And I killed two! The third one isn't going to have a family now! It was so mean of me to climb up in the tree,and kill them in their nest! I should have let them get on the ground,where it would be fair game! It's my fault the third doesn't have a family,and that Goldflower died!" she sniffled. (She can be really sensitive to stupid things.)

Hawksky licked Waterpaw's head. "I understand," he murmurd. "If you don't want to hunt anymore, you don't have to. I won't make you, anyway. But if Sandstar puts you on a patrol, I can't help that." He raised his head. "What you could do is look of old or injured prey to hunt. That way, you'd be helping them. They don't have anyone to heal them, so they'd just be living in pain."

Waterpaw blushed and nodded. She was acting like such a kit! She picked up the two squirrles and walked back to camp. Before she entered, she looked at her reflection. It didn't look like she had been crying, so she went in and sadly laid the squirrles in the pile.

Forestpaw looked around the camp and yawned.

Sandstar smiled and climbed to the Highrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock!" she called.

Hawksky look up and finished laying his prey on the pile. He walked over and sat down. Nightsplash did the same.
