Odd... I sent someone a trade for the advent snow pup, asking them to edit.
I get the trade back, she's asking for my unicorn! Her message was something like:
"this one is kind of child drawn. Is this a fair trade?"
I edit the unicorn out and tell her it's very rare, and ask if she can look for a pet in my trades she likes.
I check my ungrouped pets, wondering if I accidentally turned trades on, but the group is disabled O.o

Doesn't work for ungrouped pets for some reason.

if you have the pet code you can send a trade for a pet in somebody's locked ungrouped pets group.

Hey, I know about them! p*****8 scams the b-day club too! They show up one day on the birthday list and then they are back again 2 days later. sometimes they edit the birthday trade you send them for rare pets. then when you cancel, they act like they don't know what they did! Just warning everyone. Once you meet them, you'll know who I'm talking about.

I have never been so freaked in all of my life when i saw that tess is monitering my trades, I traded with a friend who shares the computer and we swapped cubs and 2nd gens! I know all of us who are trading legit have nothing to worry about, but its still scary anyways lol

Nick is monitoring mine. I was a little freaked out myself.. I was swapping some uncommon pets with my sister and i just -o.O- Maybe we should wait with the swapping until the christmas-rush is over?

I traded with my sis a day or so ago too, we swapped our extra 2nd gens for the ones each needed. Lol, and yes, I got the same-ish message when I clicked accept that Tess will be monitoring me, but I'm not really worried as all we did was swap. It's just to discourage cheaters me thinks. *nods*

Don't worry about this too much guys. My best friend joined CS a few months ago and we have traded a few times. I gifted her quite a few pets in the beginning too. Anyway, she gets on her laptop at my house sometimes and one of those times she accepted my trade while here. That message came up. I was so freaked out I posted a help thread on it and Nick replied. He said that we were fine and that it was obvious that we are indeed two different people and that the trades are fair, not cheating trades. He also said this message comes up to alert people but it is by no means the only reason they watch someone. In other words, just because you get this message does not mean you are being investigated for cheating. There are many other things Nick looks at to decide if you are cheating. A big factor is whether or not fair trades are made between the accounts. If most pets go to one of the two accounts it looks pretty suspicious, so don't have a friend or sibling sign up just to give you a bunch of pets because they don't want them. Not that you would. Oh, and the message only comes up when a trade is sent and accepted from the same internet connection, so the same house's internet or possibly even the same campus's internet.

Since I got that message my friend and I have tried finding other people to trade with for the most part but she had a birthday recently so I have gifted her some more pets. And if we had the advent pets the other one needed we would definitely trade...it just hasn't worked out like that, lol. Usually we both end up just helping each other find other people to trade with. But hey, whatever works.

Back on topic :
Anyway I got this trade for my candy cane December 2nd Gen (the one with the single big candy cane) offering the green blanket 2nd gen. It was one I needed but I didn't have doubles of the one they asked for so I edited it and offered the pet I did have doubles of, saying this was the only trade I'd really consider making. They canceled saying they wanted to trade something they only had 1 of for something I only had 1 of. I replied saying that didn't make much sense for me, since I want a complete set and it would mean still missing the same number of pets. I explained that I wanted to trade my double for the one I was missing. They got all mad and wrote a rude message back saying they didn't think it was fair for me to get rid of my stupid double when they lost their single pet. It was really irritating since I didn't initiate this at all but I sent a message back (and for the most part kept my cool) saying that they misunderstood me. I explained that it is ideal to find someone with doubles of the pet you need who is missing the pet you have doubles of and swap doubles. I actually did this and now I have all 5, so it obviously can work out well. I also reiterated (I had mentioned it before) that I felt the candy cane pup was possibly more uncommon than the green blanket and that I would not make a trade like that until I knew for sure anyway. And I mentioned that they had violated my trade rules by asking for the pup in the first place since it is not in one of my trades groups (I had forgotten to disable that group for trades but my trade message makes it clear which groups you can request on). But I did wish them luck finding the pet. They replied back rudely calling me hoyty toyty and yelling (in all caps) that they had tried that. Also they said not to bother messaging them again, that they'd delete it if I did. Whatever, fine by me. Honestly the whole thing was annoying and I still consider it rude (and I don't think expecting them to follow my trade rules is "hoyty toyty"). I only had one of those pups and it wasn't up for trade so why offer on it? And then say it is "fair" because we're both trading away a pet we only have one of...which makes no sense in the first place. Ugg

I actually just posted answering this. It's on the page right before this, page 339. It's the last post on that page. Basically it's all because Tess and Nick are watching a lot more during the Advent Calender because it is a big reason for people to cheat. They will know cheaters from non-cheaters though. Anyway, go back and read the first part of my post for more info.

Dont worry. You really should make the trades fairer, but if you start to do that than your fine. Me and my sis are being monitored by Tess aswell.
All Accounts using the same IP are being monitored, it has nothing to do with suspition of just you guys ^^
A lot of people are going to try and cheat cause the advent, so they have to be careful.
