When the bell had rang to go home, I ran down the path, and down the steps, and down the road, and up the driveway, and up onto the porch, and inside my new place.
"Mum I'm home!" I yelled as I grabbed a bottle of water off the kitchen table and rushed upstairs. She didn't bother replying - but she was probably in the kitchen making food. It smelt like chili. Mm, spicy.
As I ran into my gorgeous room, I saw my little baby cousin slobbering on my pretty pillow, and crumpling all the neat covers with his tiny baby feet. "CALLUM!"
He immediately looked up and glanced into my eyes, before wailing. No liquid came out of his eyes at all, but his throat shot out a whole load of noise that made me wince. I walked over, picked the snotty little cutie up by his waist, and dropped him on the black sofa in my room. Then I pulled my school uniform off and got changed into this pretty navy-blue top with white lace around the waist, and a pair of black velvet shorts with blue tights underneath. I put my hair into a messy bun and slipped on my doc.martins. I was done.
I picked the baby up very carefully and ran downstairs. Mum was now in the living room, on her laptop, as some type of meat sizzled in a pan. I walked in and put the baby down next to her and then went for the front door.
"So how was your day at school?" Mum asked all of a sudden before I had chance to grab the door handle.
"Fine, I guess. I already hate someone, and I already lo- I mean, I already have friends." I corrected myself, then opened the large brown door.
"And where are you going then, misses?" She asked once more, her eyes in a questioning position as her hands tapped on the sofa.
"A friends house, bye."
And with that I ran out and slammed the door quickly, grabbed my sparkly-grey nag from the bottom of the porch, and walked slowly down the driveway.
"Hmm, where's Regineal Road?"
