Now that the crowd had parted, Ezio could relax, for the moment anyway. He was tempted to lower his hood; but assassins only did that inside their city so he delt with it. The dark stormclouds beckoned them inside but Ezio didn't quite feel ready to go and face Brie or anyone for that matter. He hadn't just been with his friend since that morning and the sky was already almost nighttime black behind the clouds.
"Do you ever wonder if they miss us?" He asked Altair. He thought of Roberto and Pierre his older and younger brothers and of Claudia, his sister. Claudia had decided against training as an assassin but excelled in keeping records for the Creed.
"I should think so. Malik most likely is in paradise now that I am gone, but I'm sure he misses having someone to stab with that sharp tongue of his." Altair chuckled at his last memory of Malik as he set off. "Should you die brother, it will be I who will take that sword of yours!" and Altair knew he wasn't kidding, even with the sarcasm laced into his words. Ezio had the fortune of not training with Roberto and Altair only wished he could have been another year behind Malik. They always had a rivalry, even more so because they were blood brothers. When Altair received knowledge of his Eagle Vision, there had been no way for Malik to catch up with him in training. Without Eagle Vision, you had to train constantly to become an assassin. Every assassin was required to have it; but only Rafiq, himself and Ezio had such a heightened skill. Every generation or so these special assassins came along and Rafiq was shocked to find out that Ezio had his vision abilities as well. Altair had never been jealous of Ezio for taking up some of Rafiq's attention; he was actually glad that the Creed had another strong member inside it.
"Well I miss them." Ezio whispered and even Altair could just barely hear the words leave his lips. he looked to the sky and replied;
"As do I Ezio. As do I."
