Me: Oh, I'll just go on the website to make sure I have the contest end date right.
*goes to website and sees she was right on the date*
Me: Whoa, look at all those new comments. I need a quick break, let me read some. *scrolls to newest comments*
Other User: LOL IMMA PRO ARTEEST. IM ENTERING DIS CONTEST.
Me: *head desk*
Now I feel like I really have no chance, but I'm still trying to finish the picture. D: I sure hope they at least acknowledge mine compared to that other person's.

The way people treat saddlebred horses and other gaited breeds.
I went to the state fair today, being the horse lover I am, I decided to go check out the horse barns. I was horrified by what I saw.
The poor horses had their tails unnaturally bent, that was caused by people breaking that bone. They had chains and weights on their feet, making them prance. They had collar-like things so they would hold their heads "right".
They were kept in tiny little stalls, with nothing to do but stare at the other horses and people.
It's sick and wrong that they do that to horses, it's torture, and abuse. It should be illegal to show horses like that.
I could go on all day on this topic, but I'll stop now.

My family.
I spend hours, days, weeks even on my drawings. I give every speck love. I even go to the trouble of doing just black, gray, and white. And you know what? I'm actually proud of them. I'd love to have a frame for my first one, but never mind that. Then my family comes in and says they all suck and I should give up trying to draw, because my sister with literally no talent is better then my junk.
I spent two years on a novel. I sketch it out on paper, wrote pages and then typed them. I deleted and redid multiple scenes. I gave the Charecters personalities, fears, feelings. I poured my heart and soul into it. Then my family reads it from my hidden file and laugh. Laugh.
You guys don't understand what you're doing to me. I've always wanted to write, yet because of you, I deleted my pride and joy because of your comments. I've ripped up multiple picture that I poured blood and sweat into. Because they made fun of it. I even ripped up one that was going to be a Mother's Day present. My mom laughed when I showed it to her.
I don't know what you expect me to do when you do that. I gave up on drawing. I've cried because I want to write, but am afraid to. Please, leave me alone. My self esteem can't handle it.

I'm fairly certain that people are working on making that illegal. Ugh I totally agree with you.
They have soring under the horse protection law, why not all those other things as well?

That is wrong.
Just wrong.
Your parents, as well as your sibling(s) and whoever else laughed, needs to apologize to you for being so pig-headed.
That is just...horrible. My anger cannot be translated into words. You worked on something as hard as possible, and they have the nerve to laugh at it.
You should tell them exactly how you feel: how they completely tore you down, and how you worked on the drawings, writing, and characters for so long.
I think you should get the writing back; as much of it as you can. They're worth so much more than your family will ever understand, and if they don't like it and they find it funny, well, screw them.
It's none of their business to laugh at your pride and joy, and if they continue to be idiots, you can tell them exactly what you think of them doing that.
