It took him a few seconds for him to realize with shock what he had just done. He had kissed her. On the lips. His eyes slowly opened, and he saw that she seemed quite content, though that didn't change his actions. Didn't change what he had done. He had acted on instinct, without pausing to think of the consequences. Anyone who would have seen this would be outraged by what he had done, and with reason. First, he had left her alone for more than a year, and though he had thought of her every day, he hadn't gone. And now, the day they finally saw each other again, he had taken the opportunity to ruin the perfectly happy moment they were sharing. Not only that, she was a princess. It was simply not okay for him to take it into his own liberty to kiss her without her permission. Now nothing would ever be the same. I am such... an idiot.

He pulled away abruptly, his eyes wide as he caught his breath, watching her carefully as he ran a hand through his hair, obviously looking nervous. "I am so sorry," he whispered, his voice barely audible as he backed away, turning towards the way he had come in with her. Marcel had never been one to run away, but now he couldn't think straight enough to create an alternative. Because he knew in the back of his mind that it was for the best, and he was doing it to keep her safe.

(Okay now I'm going to sleep >.< It's nearly 4. Man I'm not tired at all, and i dont wanna get up tomorrow morning. :\ another boring day ahead of me....
yay x.x Make a post while I'm asleep, and I'll have a reply when you get on! And try to get on early so I don't die of boredom 8D)

Allegra nearly gasped as she felt him pulling away rather quickly. It was almost too quick for her, and just as he did the music stopped and the instruments turned back into regular water. They splashed into the main pool, disappearing completely. Allegra couldn't process what was going on. For a moment everything seemed... perfect. But then he pushed himself back as if something was keeping him from staying with her.

At the sound of his apology, Allegra's eyebrows furrowed. What was he apologising for? He had done nothing wrong... "W-Wait!" she yelled, beginning to run after him. But a thought suddenly stopped her in her tracks. He was running away from her. Just... pushed her away and left. Thoughts were going through Allegra's head like crazy. Why did he do this? Wh-What was he trying to tell me? That I'm not good enough for him...?

Allegra simply watched him leave before turning back around to her sanctuary and screaming loudly. "Why must he have ruined that!? That's the only real happiness I haven't been that happy in years!" she yelled, her voice echoing through the forest as she was practically the only person inside of it. She kicked a batch of flowers with her bare foot, causing them to lose their petals and drop on the ground like tears. She simply stomped off and grabbed her coat and boots, putting them both on before turning her head towards the water.

Allegra looked down at her reflection, watching as her hair swayed with the breeze that went through the forest. "I guess I'm just... not good enough for him," she whispered to herself, blinking her eyes to keep any tears from escaping. But her legs were shaking, and before she knew it she had collapsed onto her legs with her head in her hands.

Memories and thoughts continued to flow through her head, most of them being the day when her mother told her and Daelen that her father died. She could remember the look on her mother's face, her tears streaming down her red face. Daelen had begun to yell and scream like crazy, ripping down the curtains in his room and practically yelling at his father for dying. Allegra was like her mother. She ran to her room, locked the door shut, and stopped talking for the longest time. She had her fair share of tears, but realising that she would never have her father again was the worst.

Allegra continued to practically break down in front of the water, tears escaping her eyes. She already knew that her face was reddening, which could create a problem if she went back to the castle. She sucked in a shaky breath, biting her lip hard to stop crying. The tears stopped coming to her eyes and her face turned back to its pale colour once more. Allegra stood up from the water and began to walk back towards Kratos, her arms folded across her chest.

"Who needs him anyway, that jerk!" she growled out loud to herself. After not being able to see him in more than a year and then suddenly leaving her in the dust after kissing her, she couldn't find herself to forgive him that easily. In her mind, she wanted to slap him for being so rude. "If I ever see that cretino again, I swear he's going to get slapped like he's never felt before..." she grumbled, walked back out into the clearing where Kratos was tied up.

(Oh I'll be up early tomorrow xD I have to go somewhere early (like, at 6 in the morning... which is 3 for you xD)

Though he heard her call after her, Marcel didn't turn back. And though he wished more than anything in the world to be able to go back there, and apologize for leaving, he knew that that would never happen, either. He had made the choice in the second when he had realized he had ruined everything; when he had kissed her. Why...why had he done that? Trust him to be able to single-handedly ruin everything.

It was just... the way she had spoken to him... and how she had pressed herself up against him.. Because he had always felt something for her, deep down inside, and he was only realizing now that it was cultivating into something more to him. To him. Although she had kissed him back, he kept telling himself that she hadn't paused to think things through. That kiss wasn't supposed to ever have happened, and he wished more than anything he could undo it. Not only had he ruined everything, but now she knew of his true feelings for her. It would never be the same ever.

Silently he untied Nadia from the tree, and quickly climbed on, urging her on so that she was galloping at full speed towards Fortuna, not looking back. Marcel felt unsure of what he was to do now. As he entered the city, he got off the horse, and silently walked next to her as they went through the street, his head bent low as he didn't bother to look at anyone who would stare at his messy appearance. His conscience was nagging him, and he felt his head beginning to ache. He couldn't return to the store; Antonia was angry with him there. A feeling of not belonging was beginning to grow stronger, and he forced himself to walk on, going to the edge of the city, where he could overlook the countryside from a fence that was planted there.

As he sat down on the cold ground, he was barely aware of the rain that had begun to fall, growing heavier and heavier as thunder cracked above. People hurried into their houses, leaving the streets empty. He felt as if nothing had changed since that day that the man had asked him to thieve from the palace. Back then, though, he at least had Allegra. Now he had ruined that too.

(Lol this is a fail. But... omg downtime for CS in 7 mins o.O)

Allegra lifted her head to the black majestic horse standing by the tree, and as she stepped on a twig he glanced over at her. He lifted his head as if looking proud, but then he seemed to realise the look on Allegra's face. He lowered his head and shook it once, while Allegra untied the reins from the tree. "Come on buddy, let's go back home," she whispered to him as she put her foot in the stirrup and hoisted herself onto the large horse.

Immediately she raced towards the city, galloping at a speed so fast that she probably wouldn't of been able to stop if somebody walked in front of her. She galloped on the stone path to the city, then slowed down to the trot as she entered the gates to Fortuna. Two guards noticed that it was the princess and saluted her, however she didn't give any attention to them. They would probably ask why she looked horrendous and wet, in which she did not want to explain.

As the thunderstorm overhead began to bring a downpour, Allegra hurried to the stables of the castle and guided Kratos into his stall. She didnt bother untacking him for some reason, probably because she was going to ride him later if the storm let up. Allegra walked into the courtyard and up the stairs to the castle, opening the two large doors that led inside. She didn't look like she wanted to stop for anybody to ask her questions; she just wanted to run upstairs to her room.

(Ugh, fail for me too xD but I wanted to get this in quickly and I'm on a phone... X3)

(sorry for not posting, I've been taking pictures 8D [And making dinner..] But they're not as good as yours. OMG I saw your deviantart, that picture of you at the desk is SO COOL. Everything is like medieval! I have some up too, but I'm like a beginner in photography XD My sister is incredible though~)

The stone ground felt as i it were draining him of all warmth in his body, but Marcel remained there, his hands pressed hard against the ground as he felt them being scraped by the microscopic broken glass pieces that had been lying there for probably years, without anyone noticing. He didn't care that the rain was pouring down practically in buckets; didn't care that he was soaked to the bone. All he could think about was how he had kissed her, and how he had run away. Nadia stood a way away, watching with a look of confusion on her face, eyes narrowed as she got pelted with rain. Her gaze seemed to say; 'why are you not taking me back to my stall?' Clearly she wasn't enjoying it.

At that moment, there were only two things that he was sure of. One, that he had made the biggest mistake in his life. And two... he couldn't stay here any longer.

-

A crack of lightning lit up the large room deep within the castle, causing the little girl standing there to widen her eyes. She took a step towards the window, her eyes narrowed as she gently touched her hands against the window seat, staring out at into the pouring rain. The skies were dark, though they looked odd to her. She was of course, too young to see anything bad about the rain, only that it kept her from going outside.

(Hey maybe Daelen could go see Stella 8D I'm going to make her absolutely adore him; like she thinks he's the best thing in the world.)

(xD My friend is much more amazing than I am. He's going to an art school specifically for Photography. He's gone national with his photos~ And that's okay! I haven't been on much either because I was touring around. But I'm back for the rest of the day :3)

Allegra stomped into the castle, running up the stairs in a hurry. She noticed a few servants in the castle, but they weren't her worry. It was the king and her brother that she needed to avoid at all costs. It didn't sound like there were many people in the upper floors of the castle, which would be a saviour for her. Her room was only a few doors down, making the walk only a short few steps away. Finally, away from people and out of these clothing-

"Allegra?"

The girl stopped in her tracks, glancing behind her to see a face she hadn't seen in a long time. "Mother?" Allegra muttered, turning all the way around to face her. Kateliana was much older than she had looked when the kids were younger. Bags were forming under her eyes, and grey hair was beginning to show by her roots. She didn't seem to care about her apperance too much anymore, and the only thing she did nowadays was pur on a bit of makeup and allow the servants to do her hair.

Kateliana's hair was tied up into several braids that led down into the rest of her long hair. It was almost a quarter farther than Allegra's, making herself still seem elegant despite aging. She was wearing a long black dress that trailed behind her, with gold lacing around the back and gold trim all around the rest of the upper dress and on the edges of the bottom.

"I am sorry that I haven't been able to speak to you as much as I'd like. It seems that I just lose track of time," Kateliana apologised, pulling her daughter into a hug. Allegra hugged her back tightly, for a moment feeling much content now that her mother was speaking to her. "It is not your fault, Mother," Allegra began, letting go of standing in front of her. "You just needed time to heal."

However, Kateliana shook her head. "I am not speaking of that any longer. But I can see the trouble in your eyes. What is wrong? I would imagine that somebody didn't treat you well or something. And you're soaking wet, so you had to be somewhere," she asked, folding her hands in front of her. Allegra mentally sighed, knowing that there was no way to get away from her mother. Although it irritated her that she had to talk about her horrible day, it was better to explain it to her mother.

"I would rather not talk about it in the open hallway like this," Allegra whispered, turning her head towards her door. "May we go into my room instead?"

"Of course," Kateliana replied, walking over to her daughter's room and opening the door. Allegra followed her inside, then sat down on the rather large bed in the center. it had a thin drape that hung down from it, in which she could close if she wanted privacy while sleeping. Kateliana sat down next to her, placing her hands in her lap.

Allegra sucked in a deep breath, then began to speak. "You remember Marcel... don't you?" she asked, watching as her mom nodded once. "I remember the boy. He saved me from the pirates all those years ago." "Yes, well... he's practically 19 years old now. And that waterfall I told you about long ago... we went to it. We were just having fun when we began to dance, and then he... he kissed me. And I kissed him back, because I... I love him. But then he just pushed me away! He left me in that place and ran away, like he didn't want to see me or was scared or... something! But it made me so angry and hurt... I don't know why he did that..." Allegra practically ranted, tears forming back in her eyes as she yelled the last few sentences to her mother.

Kateliana stayed silent for a long time, looking down at her hands and closing her eyes. She finally looked up after a few minutes, placing a hand on her daughter's lap. "Allegra," she whispered her name, lifting up the girl's chin so that she could see her teared up face. "Your father once said that we couldn't be together because I was a princess. There were moments where he wanted to run away as well, because he didn't want me to fall in love with a man I could not marry one day. But here you are. Obviously that didn't happen, because I have you and Daelen. Now what does that tell you? That Marcel loves you? Well you probably don't know if he does until you ask him. Maybe he's scared, like your father was. My best advice to you would be to go see him. Don't run away and act all angry at him. He's probably just as nervous as you were," she explained to her daughter, then stood up and kissed her on the forehead.

Kateliana no longer looked depressed when it came to talking about Elton. It seemed like now, she only thought of it as a memory. She not longer dwindled on the past, but rather the present with her children. Allegra looked up at her mother, wiping away a tear and smiling shyly at her. "Thank you, Mother," she whispered, standing up beside her. "But the only problem is that I don't know where he is. He's somewhere in the kingdom, but it's much too huge to be looking everywhere," she muttered, letting out an irritated sigh. A sudden smirk was lifted onto her mother's face, but it disappeared before Allegra could see it.

"Maybe you should go to the bookstore and look up the residents in the kingdom. His name should be under the records of the city," Kateliana suggested, then opened the door to walk out of her daughter's room. "But I suggest you put on something much more appealing, even if it is raining. You are one of the three of Fortuna's princesses, you know." With that said, Kateliana disappeared into the hallway, leaving Allegra alone in the room.

For a moment the girl just stood there with a confused look on her face. Why was her mom wanting her to go to the bookstore when they probably had records in the castle? However, Allegra simply shrugged off the thought and went to her wardrobe, taking one of the fashionable blue silk dresses that she had. She undressed from the wet casual attire and instead laced up the dress, watching the trail form behind her as well as the sleeves hang down to her sides. It had beautiful silver lacings all around the dress, making it look much more royal than normal dresses.

Allegra fixed her hair quickly, simply braiding two pieces of her hair and tying them in the back so that it layed flat with the rest of her hair. She looked like an elven princess rather than just a regular princess of Fortuna, but it didn't phase her one bit. Silver tinsel was also in her hair to show that she was of royalty, a custom she was instructed to do since she was little.

Allegra headed down the stairs once more and into the courtyard, seeing a chauffeur with a horse-drawn carriage. "My lady," he bowed, seeing as she approached him. "Good afternoon. May you take me to the bookstore downtown? I wish to look at a few of their books," she asked, and the man nodded once. He opened up the carriage door for her, allowing her to step inside. Allegra sat down in the middle of the velvet seats, looking out the window as the carriage began to move down from the castle.

Mother, you better be right about this. I don't want to make myself look like the fool of searching him down simply because he's 'scared', she thought, inwardly shaking her head. Somehow she thought that it would be a bad idea to start with.

--

Marcel headed down the grand hallway, looking almost proud in his knight uniform. He had combed his hair neatly, and headed directly into the throne room. Inside were only the highest members of the court, as well as Alexander himself sitting in the throne chair next to the queen's. He stood up, signaling that the rest of the men on either side of the carpet that led to his chair do the same. "Daelen Starr," he began, lifting his head up as the boy knelt down in front of him.

"It is, as you know, your 18th birthday. not only is this the age you become a knight captain, but also the coronation as a full prince of Fortuna." Alexander nodded once to a man on the side, bringing out a golden crown, smaller than the larger, jeweled crown that the king wore. "From this moment on, you will be Sir Daelen Starr, Prince of Fortuna," he announced, taking the crown from the red velvet pillow and setting it atop Daelen's head.

Daelen stood up from where he was kneeling, and began to hear the sudden clapping from the people around him. It was his moment to shine, for the rest of the people to see him as a royal member of the household. After a few minutes of being in fame, the rest of the people began to disperse from the room, allowing only the king and Daelen to stay in the room.

"Thank you, Uncle," Daelen murmered as the king walked down from the throne. Alexander simply smirked, tapping the crown that was now on Daelen's head. The king's face looked like it was getting older, not to mention the hairs that were growing around his jaw. But it helped him look much more like a leader rather than old.

"That's a big responsibility, Daelen. You know that this will make you have to stand by me on the throne much more than usual," he joked, folding his arms across his chest. Daelen laughed a little, rolling his eyes.

"That's fine by me. Besides, seeing you speak to the people is much more interesting than having me speak to new trainees for knights." Alexander laughed at his remark, patting the boy on the shoulder. "You should be proud on this day. But for now I must return to the rest of the castle. I must find Noel and speak of this to her. I will see you at dinner tonight. Farewell, Prince Daelen." Alexander then walked out of the room with his red cloak dragging behind him. Two guards accompanied him by his side as he walked out, appearing to be a simple cautionary regulation to keep him safe.

Daelen stayed in the throne room for a minute, then walked out a little ways away from the king and turned down another hallway. It was an outdoor hallway that overlooked the courtyard, allowing for a bit of fresh air on the outside. He walked into a rather large room, noticing that it was the study area that Alexander would usually be in to read his books. He caught sight of a small figure in the window, simply watching the storm that was taking place outside. For a moment he debated whether or not to go up to the child, but instead stood by and folded his arms accross his chest.

"A princess looking out from a window when there's nothing to see except clouds?" he said out loud to her, smirking as he knew who it was. The child was Stella, the daughter to the queen and king of Fortuna.

(Freakin' long post of doom ._____.; )

Re: .:After the Battle:. (1x1)

Postby Cloudsong » Fri Aug 19, 2011 11:26 am

Marcel didn't know how long he sat there, becoming wetter and wetter with the rain, and feeling more and more cold. He only remembered Nadia coming up to him and nudging him, which woke him up. Guilt flooded through him as he saw how cold and unhappy she looked, and quickly he got up, flinching as he lifted his cut-up hands off of the ground. Small trickles of blood had painted the spots where he had had his hands red, and he could feel the small pieces of glass embedded in his skin. But he didn't give it much importance as he reluctantly picked up the reins of the beautiful horse, and walked off with her through the rain, which was becoming progressively faster and harder. He was the only one on the street, along with his horse, who obviously didn't seem very pleased to be there in the cold and wet.

He left her in her stall, and after drying her off a bit with a cloth he found in the stables, turned and left the place, his steps leading to the bookstore. With nowhere else to go, he knew that that was his last resort. Antonia had no reason to be offended, or angry, for that matter. He had done nothing to her, and now that he thought it through, had no right to be mad. What he had done to Allegra had been bad, but with her, he didn't even understand.

The bell tinkled above the door as he opened it up slowly, and he slipped inside, closing the door behind him. He was soaking wet, and a puddle instantly formed on the floor where he stepped from his sopping clothes. As he looked around, seeing no one, a sigh escaped him. "Antonia?" he called out, voice hopeful as he waited for a reply. There was silence, and he wondered if anyone was there at all. He hung his hat and coat up on the coat hanger, and ran a hand through his hair as he padded towards the back of the store, in hope to find someone.

A crash sounded from upstairs, and he blinked, approaching the staircase and climbing up the creaky wooden steps, looking around for the source of the noise. He found Antonia at the end of the hallway, her hands full with a bucket, and a mop.

"What happened?" he asked, leaning up against the wall as he watched her expertly mop up the water that was on the floor, and place a bowl under the leak. Tap. Tap. Tap. The water drops sounded quickly, landing in the bowl she had placed. He looked around, seeing that there were many other bowls, some more full than others.

"There are leaks," she explained, turning away as she wrung the water into the bucket, mopping up another mess that was forming under the window. For a moment there was silence, and Marcel inwardly sighed as he realized she was giving him the cold shoulder. Not her too, he thought desperately. His head slowly rested against the wooden wall he lent upon, making a loud noise. Flinching slightly, he rubbed the spot he had hit, flinching as he saw his wounded hand in the light.

Antonia looked up as the noise sounded, and her eyes widened as she saw his cut up hands. "What happened?" she asked, instantly dropping the mop to go closer. She took his hand in hers, putting it into the light to see how badly damaged it was. There were pieces of glass embedded within, and she cringed as she imagined how painful it must be. "How did this happen, Marcel?"

He shrugged out of her grasp, folding his arms across his chest to hide his hands from her. "I fell," he said finally. "...On glass."

Antonia rolled her eyes, detecting the lie instantly. She turned away, reclaiming her tools as she opened the door to his room, looking around for leaks. There was only one, coming in from a crack in the window, and she sighed before putting a bowl there too. "You really should tidy your room more," she commented as she looked around, seeing that the bed had been hastily made, and the few things he had in random places in the room. A small desk was in the corner, which had a small picture frame there, which the glass had been shattered. The picture inside was of a woman, who was glaring at the camera as the person took the picture. Her clothing was very revealing, and she was obviously a prostitute. She remembered the day she had asked him who the woman was, and he had looked away, obviously looking very ashamed, muttering; 'My mother.' Obviously Marcel was trying to fix the broken glass, and how it had broken she was not going to ask. Glass pieces were everywhere on the table, and he had a simple bottle of clear glue, which she didn't expect to fix the problem.

Marcel didn't reply, just followed her as she slowly closed the room off, proceeding to the next one - her uncle's room.

"You will let me heal your hand?" she said after a while, her voice distracted as she silently made the bed, picking up pieces of paper that littered the floor.

He didn't respond, just shrugged. "It's fine," he said quietly.

As she glanced over at him, she could see that something was different about him; something wasn't right... Somehow, she knew that something had happened on that trail ride he had taken with that girl, and it made her angry to think that she may have hurt him.

--

Stella instantly turned around as she heard the door open. Her eyes brightened instantly as she saw who it was, and she ran for him, embracing him around the leg as she closed her eyes, feeling more joyful than she had in days. "Daelen!" she exclaimed as she finally pulled away. Her happy look was replaced by a cross one. "Where have you been? I haven't seen you in... in..." she fought for the right words, obviously trying to be angry with him, as she had seen others do before. Crossing her arms, she looked up at him, her expression still happy, however, and a look of admiration as she saw the crown upon his head. "Are you the king now?" she asked curiously, tipping her head to one side.

(Lol mine isn't as long as yours... Sorry I took so long; I got distracted..)

Re: .:After the Battle:. (1x1)

Allegra felt the carriage suddenly stop, and the chauffeur tilted his hat as he opened the door for her. "We are here, my lady," he greeted, allowing the girl to look outside the carriage. Indeed, the small bookstore was just outside the carriage. It looked like a lovely little place inside the city, in which Allegra gave herself a mental note to come back again sometime.

"Thank you," she whispered, wrapping a scarf around her neck and a fashionable hat on her head to keep from getting wet. The rain was practically downpouring now, making it hard to even look down the street. "I will be here waiting for you when you are ready to go back," the chauffeur told her, and Allegra nodded once to him. She then turned to the door, placing her hand on the handle.

The door opened up to the sound of a bell on the other side, and for a moment she thought that it was becoming a bad idea. But as she looked around, Allegra realised that there didn't seem to be anyone at the front desk. "Hello?" she called out, her voice slightly higher than it was earlier. She was trying to act much more proper than she was before, which could also hide her identity. She took off her hat and scarf, setting it down on the counter of the bookshop. She began to look around the towering bookcases, trying to figure out which one could possibly hold records of the citizens of the city.

I'm not going to find anything here, she thought to herself as she slid her finger down the spines of the books. All of them were either encyclopedias or novels, all to which she didn't need. "This is ridiculous," she growled out loud, rolling her eyes. Mother must have been wrong about this. I can't find anything..

--

Daelen leaned over and hugged her slightly, looking down at the small child. "I've been training," he informed her, smirking at the look that was on her face. She tried to act so tough with her little attitude, however Daelen knew that she was bluffing. At the talk about being king, he sucked in a breath. He wanted to be king. He wanted to rule so badly. But it was the child that kept him from being king. A prince was one thing that could help a kingdom with relations of other kingdoms, but a king had absolute power.

Daelen shook his head towards Stella. "Not yet," he assured, fluffing her hair with his hand. "Your father is still the king, and I don't have enough experience as him to be that yet," he explained, leaving out the part with dying. The king had to die for somebody to be king, and the girl was much too young for that kind of talk.

(That's okay :3 I'm just replying between finishing my summer reading~)

Antonia opened her mouth to say something more, but cut off as they both heard the bell ring downstairs. Both of them stopped dead, and crept out into the hall, trying to hear who it was that was downstairs. There was a moment of silence, where Marcel tipped his head to one side, and approached the staircase, thinking of going to and see who it was. After all, it was odd for someone to come in the midsts of such a bad storm to the bookstore. No one usually did anyway.

But he stopped dead as he heard the voice call out. Allegra. Instantly he crept back to where Antonia was, her eyes narrowed as she gave him a questioning glance.

As she tiptoed to the stairs, looking down trying to get a glimpse of the princess, he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the bedroom closest. "She can't know that I'm here," he hissed to her.

She looked confused, and crossed her arms. "And why not? You two seemed perfectly happy today when you went out on a trail ride." It seemed as if all the resentment she had felt towards the girl was resurfacing now, and he ran a hand through his hair, nervous.

"Look.. I know that you dislike her... Don't give me that look, I saw how upset you were when you left us." He cleared his throat before continuing in the hushed whisper. "But please, just go downstairs and get her to leave. We can talk about this later, and you can punish me however you want... Don't give me lessons for a few days; anything." His words were coming out in a rush, and he was turning quite pale as he imagined her listening in on the conversation. Or the fact that she was right there, underneath them. "Just please... she can't know that I live here." He was trying to avoid her; if she figured out where he lived, it would be a lost cause.

She sighed, giving in too easily. He smiled, seeing that he had gotten his way. "And what am I supposed to do? She probably already saw your hat and jacket, and knows you're here anyway. No one else in this city has a pirate hat, and you know that." She raised an eyebrow.

Marcel hesitated, thinking it through. "Just hide it. Maybe she didn't see it... But just please get her to go. It's for her own safety that I'm doing this, and she wouldn't understand if I told her why."

THough she still didn't look convinced, Antonia sighed. "All right," she agreed. "But you owe me big time, and that means an explanation."

He sighed in relief as she silently approached the staircase, descending the creaky steps with the bucket in her hand, until she was out of view. The feeling of guilt was getting stronger, and he wished that he had enough guts to go down and tell her outright that he was going to stay away from her. She deserved an explanation, at least.

Antonia deposited the bucket next to the kitchen as she wiped her hands on her apron, entering the main room where the shop was. Instantly she saw Allegra, who was leafing through books, obviously looking frustrated. She couldn't help but notice that she had dressed up, wearing an incredibly beautiful silver gown, with her hair dressed beautifully. Her makeup was impeccable, and she looked beautiful. A twist of discomfort went through her as she knew how ugly she was compared to the princess. "May I help you?" she asked her, approaching the front of the shop, where she could see the coat rack in plain view. Inwardly she cursed. How was she supposed to get rid of it without her seeing?

--

Stella tipped her head to one side, taking in his words as if he were a god, though not truly understanding them all. "My father said that one day I would be queen," she boasted, her eyes twinkling as if she were telling a big secret to him, and he was her best friend. "Maybe one day we'll get married." She grinned. Being so young, she didn't understand what the term meant; only understood that it would happen when two people loved each other, and when they shared a powerful position, like her parents did. The way she saw it, she loved Daelen more than anything else in the world. Why shouldn't they?

(Okay xD)

Allegra lifted her head at the stairs leading upstairs, her eyebrows furrowing as she heard two people talking to each other. But their voices were so low that she didn't know who they could be. Shrugging it off, Allegra went back to looking through books, hoping that she would find the records.

Suddenly there was a voice behind her. A woman's voice that came from somewhere behind the counter. Allegra turned around and nodded once to the woman. She tilted her head for a moment, thinking that she had seen the lady before. Wasn't that... the woman with Marcel? she thought, then shook it off. She wasn't there for the woman. All she wanted were records on where to find him.

"Y-Yes..." Allegra studdered, biting her lip for a second. "I need records to the people living in the city. I would have just looked in the castle archives... but somebody seems to have misplaced them," she lied, knowing very well that they were in the library in the castle. But her mother had told her to go there, and she wasn't about to disobey her.

Her eyes suddenly looked behind the woman, noticing the hat that hung next to a coat on the coat rack. "... Excuse me for a moment..." she mumbled, her heels clicking on the wooden floor. She passed by Antonia and walked over to the rack, picking up the hat in her hands. She turned it over a few times in her palms, closing her eyes and shaking her head. He couldn't be here, she thought, shifting her head around the bookstore. There was an upstairs to the shop, in which she had the urge to go up there.

However, it would be quite rude to walk upstairs without permission. Even as the princess, she didn't want to ruin the lady's life by telling her she needed access to the upstairs. "... He didn't even say goodbye..." she whispered, half to herself. She had the idea of taking the hat and stomping on it with her foot, but decided against it. He may not even be in the bookstore, for all she knew.

"I-I'm sorry! I just got caught up with something..." Allegra apologised, realising that she had kept the woman waiting. "I'm just looking for somebody, and that hat reminded me of him. I needed to tell some things to that man..." she muttered, her voice turning a much darker tone for a moment. She began to crush the hat in her hands, feeling like she needed to rip it into shreds even though the leather was much too strong to rip. Her anger was coming back, but before she even knew it, an entire case of books fell onto the ground on its own.

Allegra immediately realised that her magic was being mixed with her emotions again, and a hand went up to her mouth. "Oh my god... I'm... I'm so sorry..." she apologised again, lifting up the case again and beginning to pick up books and place them back on the case. She was guessing that the woman would be furious with her by now, so she began to apologise again. "I shouldn't of even came here... it seems I'm just causing you more damage than good here..."

Daelen's eyes widened at the sound of marriage. Not only was it gross because they were related, but she was young. For a moment he thought that she was serious, but then remembered that she was only a little girl. She didn't know what marriage was at all. "N-No, that can't happen. You see, we can't get married. You're much too young," he mumbled, hoping that she would understand. It was strange for him to tell a little girl about marriage and love, especially when his love life had been a complete waste so far.
