"I'm sorry Jack, but even the Pumpkin King has no power over other people's property. The law is the law, and I'm sure he'd be willing to sell me once he has made another servant. It is just a matter of time before I will be cast aside," Sally said, staring back at Jack. To her, he was handsome and talented, worth more than the sun and moon. Why did he care for a rag doll like her?

"Sally, if he does sell you, i would give anything to have you, and let you live freely. Do as you please, and no longer be scared to be you. No longer have to hide the wonderful being you are. Made or not, you are living, or well, undead, either way, no different to me. You have deep eyes, eye's that act as the doors to your soul." He sighed, "you should never have to settle for any less than the best of life."

"But I do and there is no stopping that," Sally said and gave a start as the lights came on in the hall outside of her door. "Go Jack!" She whispered and pushed him back a bit, not enough to make him fall though. If Doctor Finklestein caught her interacting with someone while on lockdown she would be in a world of trouble. "Don't get caught..."

JAck quietly slid down the tower and moved swiftly in the dark moonless night to the gate, lingers for a second, and then moving on back to his own home. He would visit her again soon, hopefully tomorrow, "She should have better, why can't I do better? Why can't I give her better?" he had asked himself these questions often, and he would find a new answer everytime.

The doctor entered her small cell, lamp raised to guide him. "Sally, you've done me wrong so many times. I know not which drives you to do such, and you are too fragile to be going out like you do! I must make another, and I believe I shall sell you in the market. You have been proven worthless in almost everything," he said, leaving her wordless. There was nothing left to say.

Sweeney looked up at Sally. She was a gorgeous doll with piercing eyes and fiery red hair. He saw only a glimpse and never wanted to look away. The night he saw her at the cemetery, he saw her only partially and therefore could not declare his love for her. "I must speak to her at once.", he said.

Mara, still setting up a plan to sneak inside the tower and rescue sally, came up with nothing. Then she saw Jack and wondered, maybe he can do it. She sat and waited.

Jack slinked away into the night, hating leaving Sally like this, but for now there wasn't much he could do. He would return soon, within the hour perhaps. whom was to be certain.
