Excuse me, i feel a little disrespected here, I asked you very kindly to change your answer and it seems as if though you are argueing with me, and I dont like it. I have been studying Arabian horses for over 10 years, and I personally have been told by many Arabian horse experts and Arabian horse breeder's that ALL domesticated horse's were made from the Arabian horse, Im sorry if I sound rude but, this is what I have been told Im not sure what you have been told, but everyone has an opinion.

"The oldest breed of horses generally recognized at present and the fountainhead of all our other light breeds was developed in the desert country of Arabia, from which it derives its name. Needing an animal that would carry him swiftly and safely over long stretches of sandy soil and at the same time withstand the lack of feed and water to a remarkable degree, the Arab developed a type of horse that has long been noted for its activity, endurance, docility, and handsome appearance".

I found this on a website called http://www.arabdatasource.com/DickinsonArticle.asp

The Arabian could never be mistaken for another breed: its grace, fine features, elegance and strength surpass all others. The Arab Horse is the root from which all light breeds sprang and, once smitten, the rider never recovers from his love affair!

This is another article that supports my case. http://www.qatarvisitor.com/index.php?cID=412&pID=1462

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound disrespectful, I simply meant to explain myself.

I wasn't told anything by anyone- I looked it up on the internet and after reading through lots of different websites that is the information I found. I also searched a few books.

I read a bit of the first article and all of the second, and noticed something. They both said that the arab influenced all light breeds, they didn't say anything about the heavier breeds or ponies. Also, as the first one is the arabian horse association website, there is a possibility that it is a bit biased ;)

I checked three books, none of which said that the Arabian has influencedall breeds, but many. The one that did have the Caspian pony said that it is the oldest breed of horse (although it may have been influenced by other breeds since) and where Przewalksi's horse is mentioned it said nothing at all about any influence from any other breeds.

If I have to change my answer to join this fan club to agree with your opinion, I won't be joining then. As you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and after having spent several hours researching on the internet and in books, I don't think that my opinion will change.

((well I did set a standard and I have been researching Arabians for 10 years, but you are accepted, maybe I sha'll just change to form to 'most' all breeds or all light breeds of horses. I do like a good debate and I'm not going to tell you what's right or wrong but this is a fan club where everyone can express there own opinions. You will probably make this AHFC (Arabian horse fan club) more interesting In my opinion.

Haha no way, did it feel like you were flying? I really want to jump any horse but my papa says "it's too dangerous, no" erg I'm so jealous.

She got poisoned from the people we used to board her at.. The new people we board her at saw their car drive away, got the number plate and I recognised it straight away.... Argh... I am laying next to her in the straw, waiting for her test results...
Get well soon my girl :)
