.You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar;
When I met you.
I picked you out, I shook you up, and turned you around,
Turned you into someone new.
I heard his laugh before I saw him. The sheerness of his sleek tuxedo- the suggestive grin that played around his lips. I didn't know him, and that was worrying. I knew everyone. And I was certainly familiar with everyone at the annual Racing Ball- I had written the invites.
.Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet,
Success has been so easy for you.
But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now;
And I can put you back down too.
Excellent. She was coming over. I twisted around, twirling my martini in one hand. "Hey." I greeted her, ignoring the scowl on her pale face. She looked so appealing- blonde hair curled over her head, her mismatched eyes piercing and draining my ego as she came to a stop a few inches ahead of me. She tapped her foot expectantly.
.Don't, don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me,
Don't, don't you want me?
You know I don't believe you when you say that you don't need me.
He smiled at me. The cheek of him. "Who are you?" I asked bluntly, blowing off his charm with what I hoped was contemptful disdain.
.It's much too late to find,
You think you've changed your mind,
You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry.
She looked even better angry. "I'm gatecrashing. Keep my secret?" I ventured playfully, turning to walk away through an exit, and out into the night. She followed, spluttering with indignance. Naturally.
.Don't you want me baby?
Don't you want me baby?
How dare he? I followed as he ducked through one of the doors, my heels clacking on the concrete. It was quiet outside, the night air crisp and inviting. I peered around- he'd disappeared. Then;
"Don't move."
As he slammed me against the wall.
-Ooh, what will happen? I don't know if I'll continue this, though. Opinions? <3

I was on the large balcony, watching the fluttering moths fly towards the soft glow coming from my latern. I crushed one in the palm of my paw. I opened it and blew the silvery dust that remained of a moth.
" What did that moth do to you? " Cried a indigent voice. I whirled around as my heart pounded in my throat, placing my hand on my chest.
" And what did I ever do to you to have you scare me so? " I inquired, squinting at the person. I could tell by their voice that 'they' was a 'she'. But I couldn't see her face.
" Well I guess it's karma for killing that moth when it did no harm to you! " The lady said. She stepped forwards a bit, and all I could see was lots of purple.
" What if it was annoying me? " I asked teasingly, stepping forwards to get a better look at her.
She stiffened suddenly, and whipped her head around, baring her white teeth. I heard footsteps and she leaped onto the rail around the balcony. She didn't even wobble. I got a good look at her then.
She had thick purple hair, and was wearing a beatiful purple gown. I tried to look at her face, but with a jolt I releazed that she had a very life-like mask on, conceling her face.
She nodded at me once, then leaped off the balcony and into the night.
" NO! " I cried, rushing to the edge and reaching down, even though I knew that it was to late.
She wasn't there. No limp, broken body greeted me.
A woman came to my side.
" What did you see? " She asked.
" Nothing. " I replied. The woman stepped away from me.
" Well it sure seemed like something. " She muttered before leaving me alone with my thoughts.

As I heard the voices of the others fade away, I remained in my seat. I had a feeling that she would come back. I wanted to know who she was, and why she would hide her face and hair under a mask and wig. I didn't have to wait to long. I was half-asleep when I heard a thud. I jolted awake. There she was, perching on the balcony rail.
" You know, I'm getting real sick and tired of you popping up all over the place! " I said irritiably, brushing the dirt off myself.
" Well, " the lady began coyly, " maybe it's because you killed that moth. "
I threw my hands in the air. " It was just a moth for God's sake! " I shouted. " It's not like I killed another person! "
The woman crossed her arms.
" Fine! I'm sorry for killing the moth. Now will you please tell me why you are able jump off the edge of the balcony and not smush yourself!? And why your wearing a wig and mask?! "
I heard her intake of breath.
" Yeah, I know your badly hidden secret. " I smirked, crossing my arms.
She looked around shiftly. " Well, um... first of all, my name is Jade. Second of all, I'm a spy, wanted by the FBI and I have to disguse myself. That's why I can jump off the balcony. "
I laughed. " Even if that was all true, you wouldn't of told me! " I snorted. " What really happened? Was there a fire or something? "
" It's not funny! " Jade yelled. " It's true! " She stalked over to me and pushed a finger in my chest.
" If I wasn't a ninja, how could I do this? " She hissed, then, in a flash, flipped me over on my back, with my arm twisted behind me.
" Now do you beleive me? " She whispered in my ear.
" Yes. " I wheezed. " Now can you please kindly stop smothering me! "
" Oops. Sorry. " I sucked in air.
" I think I've told you enough today, well, tonight. I'll come back here tomorrow. My hideout is in the woods. " She pointed over to the huge patch of woods next to the courtyard.
" Wait, aren't you afraid that they'll catch you? " I grunted, massaging my arm.
" No. It's so obvious that they won't think that I'm there. " She said simply. She went to leave, but I got up and stopped her.
" Wait! Why did you trust me with this. I mean, you just met me! " I said.
" Because. When that lady asked you what you saw, you said nothing. You lied to her and let her think that you were crazy instead of giving me up. That, and I was tired of being alone. "
Even though I couldn't see her face, I could tell she was smiling. She jumped off the balcony and into the night.Awww. Total fail. Anyone like?
