Lightning struck and Mox slashed at Cee Jay’s throat while fighting him.
“Agh! Jaylo! Please………… finish him off, please…………” said Cee Jay gasping for air said Nynx's dad crying out for help until he recovers from the deep gash on his neck.
“I’ll hold him off dad!” said Nynx trying to help, but useless.
“You cannot go out there Nynx you will get hurt! Your father told me………”
“No!” said Nynx cutting Takurae off. “I have to fight! I hate being treated as a foal!” she screamed kicking Mox and sliding him across the floor.
Scratching and biting was going on between Mox and Nynx.
“At least you are a little one and not a full grown horse! I could kill you easily!” taunted Mox clawing her shoulder and missing.
“Sure you can!” screamed Nynx aiming for his neck and slammed him against the wall.
“You cannot win! You are smaller than I……you…….will…..lose….” said Mox fading slowly after Nynx had slammed him into the wall.
Scarred and bleeding, Nynx had won. Mox was drifting into the sky with a magical aura around his body.
“You will pay for this Nynx! You will pay!” he screamed disappearing into the air.
“Nynx! Where’s my daughter!” screamed Jaylo looking straight at Cee Jay. “My poor Cee Jay, are you alright? Where’s Nynx? Is she killed?” she asked.
“Fear not my Queen, for she is safe, she made Mox fade away and didn’t even die.” said Takurae.
“But that’s impossible! She’s not even three years old yet! It took me five years to fight Mox!” Jaylo said.
“Jaylo, I found Nynx! She’s right next to her father, Cee Jay.” Said Takurae.
“Will dad heal soon mom?” asked Nynx starting to cry about her father.
“Of course he will dear, of course he will.” Jaylo answered. “I can feel it. Don’t worry Nynx. He will be fine. With the kind of help we have around here, your father will be healed in no time. I also believe that all the other wolves that got hurt by Mox and his mate, Geanna will be healed in enough time before I send the hunting patrol out for food. We need hay so bad. Especially for the pregnant horses that are about to have foals.”
“I understand mother. But what I don’t understand is that why we don’t have enough horses to protect me mom. I’m scared because of what happened to Coral. I know you don’t want that to happen to me. Please mom, find us more horses.” Said Nynx worried that soon Mox will come for her too.
“Sweetie I’ll try but I won’t be sure. Right now I am sending out the hunting herds out with Chief to also find stray horses in the forest okay? Just stay calm. I’ll try the best I can. I hope I could have the strength to find my dear Coral. I just have to stay here with your father until he gets better and you are not old enough yet to go on your own without being supervised. I’m a little worried if the hunting packs would survive if I sent them to search for Coral. You know what I mean.” Answered Jaylo shedding a few tears just thinking about her lost daughter Coral.
“Mom you forgot. I’ll be three tomorrow. I’ll be old enough! Please just let me find her! I promise I won’t get hurt! I’ll take my friends just please let me find her!” pleaded Nynx.
“Nynx you cannot promise that you will live. It’s too much of a risk. I don’t know. I’ll have to discuss it with your father.” Said Jaylo.
“Jaylo! Jaylo! I have bad news and good news. The good news is that some of the trackers found a familiar scent and think it could be Coral. The bad news is that it might take two moons to look for the horses.” Said Takurae.
“Well, good job Takurae. I’ll be waiting by the patch of grass over by the acorn tree to talk to you about some other horses we found by the rivers and tall grass. I think we found four horses. I remember there are three mares and one stallion. We’ll talk about it later. Make sure Chief comes back with a good excuse if he doesn’t bring back a stray horse.” Answered Jaylo making sure Takurae understood.
“Yes Jaylo. I’ll be there as soon as I possibly can before you send out the hunting packs. I’ll make sure Chief brings back a stray horse, I promise!” said Takurae.
