Wolf felt anger flare inside her, but she pushed it down, distastefully remembering her lessons.
To let ones feeling overwhelm him or herself when on duty is fatal. It can cost you your life.
She gritted her teeth and waited for them to come. When they did, she let loose an arrow that buried itself in Furow's shoulder. He cursed colorfully and wheeled his horse into cover, the others following. Before they reached it, Wolf managed to pierce Furow once more, closer to his neck and pierce A taller more narrowed eyed man in the chest two times. The man fell to the ground, writhing in pain and cursing as he tugged at the arrows in his chest. Wolf fired two more arrows and they hit the mans throat, killing him. "Come out demons! I can sense you." I cry, hearing their beating hearts and shallow breaths. She felt her old assassin self coming back. She creeped across the clearing until she was a few feet behind the two men who were hiding, their eyes trained on the empty clearing. " Found you." She whispered, making the two men cry out in alarm. The man named Furow had no time to run as Wolf slit his throat with the tip of an arrow. The shaft broke and she cursed, quickly reaching back to grab another arrow only to find..... nothing. Empty quiver. She cursed again and she jumped into the trees, climbing from branch to branch, searching for the other assassin. Suddenly, she was knocked off her branch, a body tackling her to the ground. Her breath whooshed out of her as she hit the ground and she struggled to breath. She felt the cold bite of a knife at her throat and she relaxed, her breathing becoming slow. She let her gaze rest on the man. He had narrow yellow eyes and wolfish features. He must have altered himself to something he liked. For some reason, Wolf liked his adjustments. The man snarled. "Not so tough now are we, She-wolf." He spat. I growl at him, but stop short when he presses the blade harder on my throat and draws a bead of blood.
Magic Wolf! Use the magic I gave you!
A voice shouts in her head. A word unknown forms on her lips and she mutters them without a sound. The man flies backwards and hits a rock. He drops to the ground, screaming, as his body is slowly burned from the inside out. Wolf stares at him, no mercy in her cold, icy gaze. When the three are dead, she goes and grabs her arrows from the two dead man, cleaning them on the grass. The cut on her neck itches and she swipes at it with irritation. Carefully, she hunts down a nest of the raven and she cleans it for feathers. When she finds a handful, she sets them into groups and tie two of them together. Then she goes to the bleeding men and she dips the tips in blood. She lays one pair of feathers over each man's eyes. When she gets to the burned man though, she frowns and she places it on the rock that held his blood. Then she went to their horses, removing their tack and saddles. She threw them in a nearby river and she slapped their hips. They bolted into the forest, disappearing. A driving wind forced her to crouch down. Lero landed in the clearing, a strange look in his eyes. Wolf approached him only to be swept out from under her feet and pinned to the ground with one large talon. She let out a yelp of surprise. Lero snarled above her head. "Child. Tell me. Do you feel guilty for the murder you've committed against these men who were sent after you against their wills?" He snarled, eyeing her with his blue eyes. Wolf knew he wanted the truth. She thought for a moment, staring into his eyes, then sighed, looking away. Her eyes were ashen and her face slack. "Yes Lero. I do feel guilty. I feel guilty that I killed them. " She whispered. Lero snorted, contempt. "Do not kill for simple revenge. If you have an weaponless man at your feet who is cowering in fear before you, do you not think that is enough? Do not kill without reason. I understand the Wolf Man and The man named Furow, but the other man I know not why." He growled. He lifted his talon and Wolf scrambled out from under him. She bowed her head. "Yes, lero. I'm sorry." She whispered. Lero gazed at her then groaned. "Child I cannot be angry with you. Just remember that." Then he began to croon to her and Wolf scratched underneath his neck.
