Well I doubt that they will turn very rare soon.
They are quite common rares, I see lots of these guys in trade groups of some people.

I don´t think so. I had several doubles of it.

Well, I guess that might have been part of it, except it was around late January-mid February this year when I was looking for it, and not when it was released. Also, I actually got doubles of a rare pet in my original adopts, once, so it's possible you just got lucky.
