Modern Magic (No more new members)

"Thanks." he said smiling to her. Soon the rest of the food on his plate had disappeared. "I don't need anymore. That was really good though." he said glad that he'd eaten. If he hadn't eaten when he did he soon would have became very weak.

The waitress came by and Myst paid for the food. The waitress scurried off to tend to the other customers. "So, what do you say we head over to my house. I can introduce you to my parents and we can get the guest room set up." Myst said. She got up from the table, putting her wallet away.

"Sounds great." Shane said as he also got up from the table waiting for her to get ready to go. He walked to the door and held it open for her. The least he could do was be polite, she had just offered him a roof over his head and a job.

Myst stepped out and started leading the way. "We live at the edge of the forest where my father collects herbs. It takes some time for my mom to drive to work with things like that, but at least she can use home made medicine created by a master." she said, deciding she might as well give Shane some background knowledge about her family if he was going to be living with them. The same golden butterfly from earlier flew by and landed on Myst's finger. "This probably one of the butterflies dad's raising, it seems to be attrackted to pixie dust."

Shane followed alongside Myst, listening to everything she had said. He watched as the butterfly landed on Myst's finger, it was quite beautiful. He enjoyed hearing about her family, they seemed like nice people. He couldn't wait to meet them.

After several minutes, they reached her house. Myst opened the door and the butterfly flew into the living room. "Oh! So little fella, where've been all this time?" a deep, booming voice came from the living room. "It fallowed me. Mom, dad, can you guys come here for a sec." Myst more so stated than asked. Her parents, a tall thin woman wearing a sweat shirt and some old jeans and a short (slightly round) man wearing a green T-shirt and black pants, came to the enterance hall. Myst smiled. "This is Shane." she said, directing their gazes to him.

Shane nodded and spoke. "Hello." he said. He wasn't completely sure what to say so he kept it simple. They seemed like very nice people, just like Myst.

"Welcome! I'm Jan." Myst's mother said. "And I'm Paul." he father said with a nod. Jan had a huge grin on her face and Paul mearly stood there, but his eye's were sparkling with welcome. "I met Shane earlier today, he's a dragon shifter and took me for a flight, so I treated him to lunch. It turns out he doesn't have any where to live, so I was hoping he could stay here." Myst said and closed the door behind Shane. "Of course!" her parents replied in union.

"Thank you so much." he replied to Jan and Paul. "Living on the streets since I got here wasn't what I'd call fun." he then said, incredibly grateful that he now had a place to say.

"Come on, I'll show you your room!" Myst said cheerfully grabbing his hand. She pulled him upstairs, toward the guest room. "I'm so glad that she's finally made a friend." Jan said with a happy sigh. "You said it! Oh, and it's your turn to make dinner tonight." Paul said, heading back to the living room. "And it's a good thing too, you always burn it!" Jan chuckled.
