I feel like such a newb reading this thread. I am a begginer rider, just started before sumer by maybe a month or so, but have been obsessed with horses all my life! I am proud of me because I did my first canter yesterday <3

Congrats! It's an amazing feeling.
I love Raella and Baylone Rose, You are the best friends anyone could EVER HAVE <333When I bestride him, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

LOL my horse Buster, he's 20 years old, never was a big jumper, had really bad arthritis in his front knee (almost gone now), freaking cleared a 4 foot fence to get into the big field with his friends. Isn't that insane! And here I thought I had a retired old man! Not a scratch on him, gonna try and learn to jump with him now, it's gonna be awesome now that I know he can do it.
PS I'm only a beginner when it comes to jumping so most I will do with him is like 1 foot?

You guys should check it out <3 I'm sure Gamzee has already heard of it/seen it, right? :p I really want to go there and become a riding instructor/barn manager/barn owner like my trainers.
@Altered: Same here. Well, when I started riding Uman, he was pretty out of shape, wiggly, and with a weak butt. I've worked him all summer and now he is much more uphill, hardly wiggly, and with a muscular butt x3 My trainers lunge him with the cavvesson all the time to strength his butt. I'm not allowed to lunge him because he charges his lunger a lot...
Summer is a butt. D:< She is a lazy little 4 year old, wiggles everywhere, doesn't bend easily, hates corners, takes forever to pick up the canter, hardly gets the correct lead, etc. etc. But she can be fun after you work with her a bit, although she really tires me out quickly. Especially getting the left canter lead. So. Hard.
Imax is out of shape and wiggly, but his mouth is soft as butter. I got him on the bit within minutes of our first ride. o.O He is also responsive to the bit. The snaffle we use on him is one of those massive loose ring french mouths, I believe, but it is HUGE so very nice to the horse. But he is so lazy that it drives me insane, and he can't do very much at the moment because he needs to build more muscle and gain more stamina.
Oh yes. William Woods. I want to go there as well...they do camps?!

*desperately searches website* Gahh..
Im going to horse camp next summer, im gonna see if i can go to this, its about the same price, but i live in cally

Has anyone heard of Stoneleigh-Burnham? It's a boarding school in Mass. for girls grade 7 to 12. It has a good equestrian program and I really want to go there. I asked my mom about boarding school one time and she said she wasn't sending her kid to some school far away.
I'm trying to convince her. Sigh. I really want a lot. Boarding school, a horse, it's a lot. But, grrr, it's all so awesome.
Edit:
I like this horses personality and he's good at cross-country, which I want. What do you think?

It's ok, we all have faults, and a bunch of us are beginners. I would call myself the intermediate end of beginners. not quite past beginners. I know a lot about riding, and horses in general, but there is still way more I have to learn =3
byI'm not active on CS anymore, but if it's important,
PM me, although I can't promise I'll respond.
Outside of CS, I post my photography on
Flickr and
Pack.

Gamzee: Yup, they have a camp! I'm not sure if it is on the website, but I can check. Pretty much all of my barn friends have gone. Prices are: Residential $895 Commuters $695 for the week. My parents said I could go if I get straight A's throughout middle school. Hopefully this year will go well and then I can go to the camp!
Wow, you live in Cali and you're gonna come out here? 8D Cool. Lots of people from around the country. They have hunter pleasure (on the flat), hunt seat over fences, saddle seat or western to do.

Guys, I'm so confused. Dx
So, it was the first day at the far, and were walking through the horse barn and I'm saying: "I can't wait to bring Poco here!" but then we see someone from our stables and were talking and she says that Dawn probably won't let me show Poco at the fair. ;C While we were walking back to the Llama barn to check on our llama's, my mom said; "Well, maybe we can ask your riding instructor if we can lease and ride one of her horses." Since she lives right next to the llama farm, and isn't far away. I got excited but... I dont want to stop riding Poco. DX
I don't know what to do...
