Patchpaw streched, the dawn was breaking as the sun made it's way through the horizon slowly. She curled back up again, not so sure if she wanted to wake up. She unwrapped herself and flicked her tail, pushing her fore-paws to sit up. She looked around and felt the breeze rustle into the den.

Briarfoot smiled at Patchpaw, "Come along Patchpaw, we need to go out and get some more herbs. We're running low on a few key ones." He looked over at the quiet camp, sighing. He limped out of the den, his three legs making their usual scratching pattern on the ground. He had been born whole, but halfway through his apprenticeship, he had gotten his leg caught in a trap. And the two-leg who rescued him dropped him off with three legs. He sighed softly, his name was focused on that idiot mistake he had made.

Patchpaw nodded, and followed Briarfoot, her legs still aching. Her blind eye made her useless at fighting, and she had the paw of her fore-left leg left in a fox-trap. Patchpaw limped up after her mentor. "Which herbs?"

Briarfoot spotted a vole and snagged it from the freshkill pile. He began to munch on it quietly. "Some coltsfoot, horsetail, a bit of marigold, and probably to be safe some stinging nettle. Be careful while retrieving the seeds however. The largest patch of it has a fox den under the bush. Maybe take Moonshine with you." He knew the warrior like Patchpaw, rightly Patchsong now, she had reached the age to become the true medicine cat already, but he had no wish to retire just yet.

Patchpaw nodded. She knew that Briarfoot was catious of her being attacked by a badger or fox, but she knew that she could take care of herself. "OK, Briarfoot." She mewed, padding towards the Warriors' den and called, "Moonshine?" She flicked her tail as she waited for Moonshine to come out.

Tanglestar's ears twitched at the sound of birds, knowing that now he was awake. He uncurled himself slowly and streched. He yawned, showing his teeth. His eyes opened slowly, and he smiled. This was the second moon that he had been leader.
