Alex watched her in confusion and then started following her, guessing they were going the wrong way. "You're not going to find them.. you should just give up." he said as convincingly as he could. He didn't want to have to follow her, but he had to so he could prevent her from finding Jenni and Ivy. He knew that she would be the type who would try to expose their secret in public and so he had to try to stop her.

"No," she said. The one-worded reply held a little bit of stubborness in it as she continued jogging, well now she was running, picking up the pace gradually, toward her friend. "I will not give up on my best friend since elementary. Or break the promise since then," she said, glancing behind her. "And you should probably help me before I seriously call the police."

Alex continued keeping the same pace at her, speeding up at the same time. "Just give up. I have already said that Jenni won't harm Ivy. You have to believe me. I mean, what's Jenni meant to do to someone? She's basically harmless." he replied to her, trying to find where Jenni and Ivy's scent was to check they were going in the wrong direction, away from them.

Amy stopped and turned around to look at him. "And if she does hurt her? Then what do I do? Ivy has younger sisters to look after when her mom is at work. Her stepdad or stepbrother hardly gives a crap about her, Ella, and her other mentally unbalanced sister, Lily. Both of them depend on her when they're mom is out on a business trip."

Now, Alex wasn't sure what to do. He couldn't betray Jenni, he never could. But then he also couldn't let Ivy die and then also risk a chance of being exposed as a vampire. "Listen. I doubt Jenni will do anything bad.." he said. But he, himself, couldn't even believe it. He knew what he was saying was just one big lie.

Amy studied his face, shaking her head. "Even you don't sound certain," she said, taking a step back, getting ready to rurn around and continue running and searching for Ivy.

Alex shook his head as he watched her. He had no idea what to do, He could just leave her to run further into the woods until she was lost, then he would have no problem. But what if she found Jenni and Ivy? That was his main concern.

Amy shook her head, turning around. "You can help or you can try to stop me. But, there is something strange about you two," she said and started walking quickly again.

Alex decided to follow her to see what happened. "What do you mean? There's nothing strange about us.. we're just like you." he replied, trying to get her off of the track of thinking there was anything strange about them.

"Sure. You guys live in the middle of the forest instead of around other people. I don't think I've seen you at school. You make people come out to the middle of the forest for some odd reason...and you know. I don't think you should be able to follow a car and keep it in sight. Even if you're running," she said.
