"True. Do you know why?" Brambletail asked. He was impressed so far with what she knew, even if it was just a little. It proved she was bright, at least.

Brindlepaw thought harder "because some feel you or some smell you before they here you?"

Brambletail smiled. "Good! Now try to copy this crouch. This is what you would use if you wanted to hunt mice." He dropped in to the correct crouch and stepped forward a bit. "Think you can do that?" he asked.

Brindlepaw mimicked Brambletail the best she could. She stalked forward

"Wonderful!" Brambletail praised. "That was nearly perfect! You were just leaning to the right a little, but that was great for your first time!" Brambletail looked at Brindlepaw. "Has someone been teaching you?" he narrowed his eyes and nudged the she-cat playfully.

Brindlepaw laughed "No," she smiled

Brambletail laughed. "Well, are you ready to try it on a real mouse?" he asked, turning his head a bit.

Brindlepaw stops crouching immediately. "Already?" She mentally shook herself. "yes!"

"Now, I'm not garunteeing you're going to catch anything," Brambletail said seriously. "But I think it would be good practice, to get the smells and learn how to creep up on them and all that. Who knows, though?" he chuckled. "You might just catch something the way you're going!"
