(Tehe, thank youu.)
Well, first off, Mr.Tan was overly friendly. He walked over to me when I was sitting down next to Sarah, and started asking me a lot of questions.
"Why hello there, newcomer. Name? Age?" He asked, while he bent his legs so he could get to the low chair I was sitting on.
"I'm Aubrey, Aubrey Jenkins, and I'm-"
"Aha, of course I know your age already, yes. Hmm, so do you fancy anyone yet? Ah, I can tell you do. All girls your age fancy someone. So who is it? Hmm? Why don't you just admit it to me so we can pair you up together?"
I blinked at him then quickly looked at James to see if he was looking at me or not. Mr.Tan took that SO the wrong way.
"Ah, I see what's going on here. You're madly in love with James! Sweet love, oh sweet love." He sang softly, but loud enough for everyone to hear as he sprung around the room rhythmically. Everyone but me and James started laughing. Even Madison, but hers was a spiteful laugh.
I blinked once more and squeaked, "What? No!" but this made the class laugh more. James looked like he was dying in his seat, but I was dying even more. I kept saying 'I don't' but no one was listening and they couldn't hear me anyway over the giggles and snickers.
So I stood up and shouted. I shouted something really unexpected. "SHUT UP!"
I loved that moment. It was like, amazing. I was just standing up, I couldn't control anyone's laughter, and then I scream shut up and everyone does just that, they shut up and stare at me, wide mouthed. I look around at all the students who are looking straight back at me, while I breathe heavily and my face goes from the beetroot red it once was, down to my normal colour.
Then I said quite simply, AND quite smug, "I do not have a crush on James." and sat down.
Mr.Tan was about to open his mouth and say something but all of a sudden the bell went. I didn't quite understand this because it was only about quarter of an hour into the lesson, but I stood up anyway, and filed out with the rest of the class. Mr.Tan followed us, and some of the pupils muttered 'fire' between themselves.
