You can turn off receiving messages (when you get a new trade) by going to trade settings/rules and taking off the box 'Notify you when new trade comes in'. C:

Yes, you can subscribe. At the bottom of the page, there are two buttons. 'Subscribe' and 'bookmark'. Bookmark means to bookmark a page and you can view it in your 'bookmarks'. I've never tried the subscribe button, so I guess to ask another helper? xD

There is the December 18 box, where you can get pets from any year. Other then that, you'll need to trade for them.
You can post that in the 'share your art' category. Just remember not to show pictures of yourself.
