What date did you register as a CS member?:
I registered on April 15, 2009, at 9:18 PM.
How many posts have you made in the forum?:
As of now, I have 1860 posts and counting.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
On an average week I can visit every day; it's more of a habit just to stalk some threads I find remotely interesting.
Of course, I waste quite a bit of time, but on a normal week I have more than enough to waste.
Although this summer it's really hectic and I haven't been able to get on as much as I'd like to, I know that will stop when sports practice and volunteering does, which will be very soon, so it's no big deal.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Well, today for example, I've been on for about an hour so far and I'll be on until I'm forced to get off.
I usually go on for one to three hours a day.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?:
I speak fluent English (Well, duh :3) and consider myself more of a writer, so I can help others in that area if they want something critiqued.
I also have had a lot of experience with Photoshop and other programs, so if anybody had a problem I would most likely be able to fix it.
I rarely get truly angry at somebody; mostly when I rant, the topic is myself.
I can almost always find a clear and simple solution that will benefit everybody; so I suppose I'm pretty good at peer meditation, also.
I am learning Spanish and only know very basic vocabulary, but I could always use a translator and I'm very good at understanding it, anyway.
Why do you want to be a General Helper?
I think that CS has become more of a site where the higher-up players (i.e. ones with more experience, pets, etc.) judge the ones that don't know anything about CS because they've only been on this site for a week or so and are just getting used to it. There's been a lot of gossip and bad words floating around about those users and I think it needs to stop. Those users are ranted about on rant threads when the other person could have been a lot nicer instead of poking fun at them. I want to help those new users and show them that CS is, overall, a really friendly site that everyone can use to their benefit.
I like offering advice, and I haven't done that much in the past, but every time it made me feel happy, like something I did on CS is actually worthwhile. And I want to become a General Helper so that my time on CS seems worthwhile, because lately it's been seeming like more and more of a waste of time. If I can help others here, it helps me in my daily life when I have to settle arguments between my brothers. I don't really care for the colored names--in fact, pink is my most hated color--but with that, as you said, Tess, it will be easier for the other users to spot. Also, CS is basically the site where I grew up. I learned how to be polite to others, when to not start a flame war, and my writing skills and maturity have improved dramatically. I want to be able to give back to this site, using my skills, so that maybe in turn I can become a better person, also.
